9-2- practice updates... Some interesting news so far

I don't think it is a fluke that Norman picked off so many passes in the preseason.  Granted, it might have been that the offenses were watered down and some of the time he was playing against back ups.  But he clearly has a nose for the ball and did a good job of baiting the QB to throw the ball and the jumping the route.  That shows some quickness and good instincts.  Yeah maybe the kid isn't as polished as some DBs, but he has improved and I do think that he has the talent to lead this team in INTs this season.

Munnerlyn really does get beat a lot.  I see why they are hesitant to put the two Joshes out there.  But in terms of being physical, dynamic pass defenders, I think they are our best options.  For every time he gets burned, Norman is going to do something game changing.  For every time Munnerlyn gets burned, he gets burned again.

i'm sure that it's been pointed out that there's not a whole lot of difference between the starting CBs and the 3rd CB because we run in nickel formations for about 75% of the snaps.

whether capt is starting over either josh...all three are going to be on the field most of the time. it's not really a big deal.

I think Rivera knows Norman is our future starting CB and I think he wants it to happen asap.

At the same time, Rivera wants to see Josh continue to develop and play within his assignments and he is going to hold off starting him until he is sure Josh won't fall down again.

Once Norman really gets it, look out.
