I figured this could be a space to be the primary focus on our new OC now that the new season has commenced and given there will likely be weekly firestorms concerning this dude.

After game 1:

Honestly, he did ok.  Way more on the conservative side than I would have liked but considering the opponent and the lack of execution on certain players' parts, I think he managed...well, not sh*tty.

Very simplistic play designs, minimal pistol but still used it, and a lot of short patterns for the WRs.  I wish we tried to see what Ginn and Hixon are capable of but it seemed like a very straight forward 1RB-1WR-1TE focused game with some help from Tolbert.  Not even much play actions it just seemed very dull but an offense we could have won with if it was executed better.

yay team

What say you?......

I'm more than happy with Shula play calling. I didn't like the DeAngelo run on 3rd & 2, and also the throw to Smitty with Sherman on him on 3rd & 2, which I'm not sure is totally on him, but other than that I like what he's looking to do with our offensive.

If we continue to execute and not drop passes, there's no telling how the game would've ended up.  When your O Line is getting push, you have to take advantage of it.

Shula has made a believer out of me.

Hixon didn't play, and we did alot of playaction passes.

Really? dang I must have missed that

Was that a gametime decision deal?

...my memory maybe fuzzy from at the game today lol but I don't recall many play actions trying to set up a big play early after it seemed our OLs run support was rather decent.

what we saw today was an actual pro football gameplan designed to take advantage of another team's weaknesses, something we haven't seen in a while. it was composed of plays designed to adapt to the conditions on the field, which were unique ones given seattle's strengths and weaknesses.

execution was shoddy and i do wish cam had taken more deep shots, but i'm not worried about shula at all. i think he called a good game.

49 plays. 49 friggin plays and we held a TOP advantage until the fumble. That disappoints me. Also, the fact that two seasons ago we could almost win a game by out scoring someone, we now all of the sudden have to hope and pray for a score with virtually the same players, and a better defense. I just wonder how we can't take shots on offense, or at least speed things up when we have a defense that we can count on now. We have the potential to put up 24 in one half on offense, but if play calling doesn't change, it'll never happen. Our defense can now help us sustain those leads yet we may never see them again
