IF, we fire Rivera during the season, who should take over?

mcdermott is great with schemes but we have no idea what he's like as a playcaller or motivator or sideline leader. shula isn't proven enough.

chances are rivera finishes the season no matter what.

Agreed.

I will say, however, that at the training camps I've attended, McD is the anti Rivera. He's fiery. He screams. He gets in guys' grills. It would be a totally different show on the sideline.

One of the coordinators, maybe McDermott?

Or get an outside coach to take over until the year ends

Clearly this guy is worse than I am... Yet this thread will Not be locked and his thread creating abilities will remain intact

Also, everybody will be thinking what if* Ribera had been fired... Surely Chip would have picked Carolina

Who are u to determine who a valued poster is? If you're so valued how come you're not and have never been a Mod?

Perhaps you should get back to making somebody a drink

I probably just prevented The Poo storm that would have been with that thread. Don't even play like no one was going to create a 50 page thread about why we retained Rivera when we could have had Chip!

    • It's definitely a historical issue at QB but to be perfectly blunt, we also don't do a good job of really developing almost any position if you look at the last decade or so. I tend to be on the side of that being far less a development issue than an evaluation deficiency.  I think we are in the situation at QB2/3 recently due to the overall roster being absolutely abhorrent and the QB classes being quite thin. It is harder to justify another Matt Corral(or several) when you can potentially get a real two deep contributor at other positions.  But, it was a lot of hard work to get to the point where are roster is so incredibly bad that luxury picks literally are not in our vocabulary.  This is the reaping what you sow portion of our history.
    • That is what I meant about our front office. They are like someone filling out a March Madness bracket based on preference of uniform colors and mascots. There's no rhyme of reason to some of these fugg'n mind numbing decisions they make.  They go all in on these flimsy-@ss prospects and are gun shy when it comes to more solid prospects.  It's literally maddening and the reason I stopped being so emotionally involved in this team. Heck the only reason I'm active on the board today is one, it's my day off and two, it's cut down time.
