Officially boycotting the Panthers (Boycott Ended 11/11/2013)

I know what you clicked on this link to say.  "Fine then, we don't need you".  "you're not a real fan", "how bout some loyalty", "stupid bandwagon fans".

Let me tell you something.  I have been a fan of this team since day 1.  For 20 years now, since the team was announced in 1993, I have loved the Panthers.

It has come to my attention that if we want anything to change with this organization we are going to have to pressure Mr. Richardson where he can actually be pressured.  His wallet.  I want nothing more than to field a good football team with a competent coaching staff.

I will not support a franchise that is not committed to winning. I will not waste my hard earned money on jerseys and tickets when the owner clearly doesn't want to field the best available coaching staff. I will not waste my Sundays again and again having my heart ripped out as the same outcome of shitty coaching is played out in front of us.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

I will not financially support this team any longer.  I have spent too much, and given too much of my time.

You seem well spoken. Write a letter, figure out a way to collect digital signatures and mail it to Richardson himself. Not only is he losing the trust of current fans. He is missing out on the younger generation as well as transplants into Raleigh and Charlotte.

I will be willing to draw a pie chart to show him the pulling power of these new arrivals and what he could do with the revenue stream brought in by winning and keeping his current fans plus adding new fans, versus losing support of the fools stupid enough to care.

If you feel like that will solve some issue you are having, sure.  This is your site.  Feel free to be as dictatorial as you please.

I have merely stated an opinion.

Well, you are boycotting the Panthers.

This is a panthers related site that helps build support for them.

So by being here you are supporting the panthers.

Will you join back if the team win the next game?

If by some miracle, Ron Rivera proves that it was just chance that he is 2-14 in games decided by a score.  If it is just statistical smoke and mirrors that he has blown countless 4th quarter leads.  If I am completely wrong in my assessment of this coaching staff and it turns out that Rivera is the best man for the job, not a cheap alternative to a real coach.  I will eat the biggest fuggin crow you can serve me.

However, I am not wrong.  The record doesn't lie.  Our coaching staff is incompetent.

I understand that I am possibly hurting your source of income and would not hold it against you for a second if you decided to ban me.

I have enjoyed this site for years.  I thank you for your effort in making it a place where people can share their opinions.

I don't want to ban you. But you are trying to boycott the Panthers.

Visiting this site indirectly helps the Panthers revenue. Watching the games on tv indirectly helps the Panthers revenue.

If you are going to really boycott them, you need to not watch, listen, or read anything panthers as they are all connected.

    • We've got another viral Panthers song The dab is back Jags Week 1, Ohio State National Title, JLo got divorced...   Nature is healing, it's Super Bowl time
    • Its too late for that.  Time has run out.  You dont give him a ext if he plays "decent".  He played "decent" at the end of last year and look what happened.
    • I’m not necessarily advocating sticking with Bryce. His highs show the ability is there, but there’s enough bad film out there to doubt that he can consistently enough play at a high enough level. But this video from Brett Kollman is a pretty good argument to give it a bit more time, whether that be rolling with Bryce just next year or picking up his 5th year option (not extending him).      The gist is that the structural (wider hashes) and rule (3 yd vs 1 yd thresholds for intelligible offensive lineman downfield penalties) differences in the college and NFL have led to wildly different play calling and scheme diets in college. There is much more shotgun and RPO calls in college and screen/quick throws. This simply doesn’t set up young QBs to be able to play under center, which is more preferred in the NFL due to RBs being able to more effectively run out of that formation.  They don’t know how to do it and have to learn. Yes, the NFL has trended more toward college style offense in the last decade or so, but it isn’t that pronounced and is more out of necessity than desire. And on top of all that, they ask the young QBs to do all this learning with coaching and other personnel churn going on around them.  Bad results lead to coaches getting fired and new ones with different ideas on scheme and footwork and different terminology and playbooks coming in. It makes it harder on those young QBs to learn.     So we may drop Bryce for a young QB starter in the draft and be in a similar situation. With a QB who is going to take years to learn how to operate in an NFL style offense and will struggle along the way.  So you have to weigh whether the struggles we see from Bryce are more due to this learning process vs solely physical limitations on his part. It’s almost undoubtedly a bit of both, but the answer to that question I think dictates your strategy at QB over the next few years. And of course, you have to consider what the alternatives available are.    I’m neither a Bryce hater or a Bryce Stan and I don’t have an answer to that question. But I do fear that if we move on from him, unless it’s for an established player, we’re just in for continued frustration on the QB front because it’s going to take a few years for a college QB to develop (Drake Maye’s don’t grow on trees).
