Are Cam and Rivera adjoined at the hip?

I see Dave Gettlemen as a GM that that has what he wants in players, coaches and offensive/defensive schemes all planned out in his mind.

I think we can all agree Rivera is gone but the bigger question is Cam gone with him? I think he meant his statement that Cam needs to win. By not signing a top WR or OL mean that he feels Cam has the tools to win ? He has been collecting cap space like a dog collects fleas but seems to feel we have the tools in place. Is he collecting this money to resign Cam or to replace him? I do not see Gettlemen buying the argument we did not have a Cam friendly scheme or the players he was surrounded by as being inferior. I feel he is old school and feels the qb should play in his scheme not the other way around. My opinion is we have bigger changes down the road other than Rivera.

We all like how Gettlemen has handled the cap now lets see how we like him with the changes he will make to the personal.

I don't think so, but Cam has to improve to stick around. DG can give him more time and build the supporting cast, if it doesn't work out he gets his own QB and puts him in a good situation.

I love Cam, but he has to get better in several areas or we need to part ways.

I say that they are adjoined only in the context they may both need to win to stick around. I do believe Cam has more wiggle room but I also believe his window of opportunity is closing. Cam is one of the better athletes in the league no question but he needs to prove he is one of the better qbs.

I agree he needs a better supporting staff but that begs the question if Gettlemen feels that way why has he not upgraded the talent? There appears to be a disconnect.

Lol you actually think Gettleman decides if Cam stays? If Cam leaves it will be because he wants to.

Except we have Cam for three more years. Gettleman could easily trade him for value at some point. So yeah, it's in Gettleman's hands.

Do I think Cam is gone? I don't know. I can see both scenarios.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
