Wow. Two posts in and no fretting yet. Maybe there is hope after all.

Eli is the first QB we've faced that is not mobile. Maybe, just maybe, we can rattle his cage and come away with that elusive first victory.

Eli is a 2x Super Bowl Champion. Yet you think he'll be easier to stop than a rookie in his 2nd game? Your blind optimism rivals Ron Rivera's.

The Panthers are like my kid.  I can get frustrated beyond all belief with him/them but I can't stay mad very long and I will always have the vision that he/they will turn out great in the end.  Hope springs eternal.

But, I do have to say this.  Rivera is like my kid's crappy science teacher.  I have no loyalty to her and her apparent incompetence, dullness, inability to reach the students and lack of passion has both my son and me feeling fairly cheated so far this school year.  I feel the same way about Ron and as far as I am concerned, I will lose no sleep if either are fired.

Keep Pounding.

I believe we will win.  I really, truly do.  No fretting here.

Let's talk again around 4:30.  :)

I know it is getting late...

Because I said Eli is not mobile and maybe we can rattle his cage to garner a win. That makes me a Homer?

Sorry kid. What makes me a Homer is the fact that I still see a bright future. Whereas too many others see gloom and doom. And then act all smarmy because some Homer doesn't fall into that trap.

But hey...to each their own.

Being a homer for 4-6 straight years when the team sucks, then yelling "I told you so" when they squeak out a winning season doesn't Mae you right.

    • Just take BPA and if it so happens to be a WR then so be it or try to trade down and pick up some extra draft capital. You can draft for needs in rounds 2 through 7, but that first round pick needs to be someone who can come in and be an impact player.  Personally, I'd want us to take Blake Miller or Spencer Fano to man the RT spot for the next decade plus after Moton hangs it up and who could possibly play LT if Ickey doesn't come back to 100%. But if the grade on those guys don't match up to the 19th pick or if we have a WR graded much higher than I'll have no problem with the team going a different direction.  I do think the coaching staff is lower on XL than they are willing to admit publicly so a WR pick wouldn't shock me. The offense and Bryce looked better with Coker playing the Z than XL so if we upgrade that spot, it'll allow us to be more versatile with our WR alignments as both Tmac and Coker were pretty good lining up in the slot.
    • It's the suggestion.  "We can't draft a receiver in the first round, because that would be three times in a row. The FO doesn't know what it's doing. We can't do that [blah blah blah]." Stick with your board! If receiver is at the top of the board. If TE is at the top of the board, so be it. Morgan used free agency to give the Panthers that flexibility. It's that simple.
