Would you trade Cam Newton for Cleveland's 2 Number 1 picks?

Cam is one of the reasons why we are even keeping up in most of these games.

Cam is not a pocket guy. He needs 12+ designed runs a game. We need to move him out in space and we need to start implementing more hurry up/10-15 yard routes. These 20-25+ routes aren't working...not with this OLine

Rivera/Shula need to wake the F up and realize who they have at QB. He's 250 lbs. He gets better as he runs and moves the chains.

And that's the bottom line. Stone cold ET says so

Who though? post something if you have it....

I'm not implying that it's coming from a legitimate source, but apparently it was a topic on Cleveland talk radio this morning.

On the Cleveland sports Radio talk this morning, they're are talking about the Browns (2) 1st round draft picks for Cam Newton!!? #IMALLIN

These rumors of Cam Newton coming to the browns is exciting me

Branman @Branmancanjam

Rumor floating around about #Browns trading both 1st rounders next year for Cam Newton. I'm in a glass cage of emotion.

I guess that's where the OP got the notion.

Sounds kinda like Brandon LaFell kinda numbers...well save for the 4 less TDs.  Also, Welker had Brandon LaFell type numbers in Miami.  My point is, an average receiver becomes great with a great QB.  A WR like LaFell with Cam has still been...average.

Right because Peyton Manning has never had anything but average receivers. Also, could it be that Welker progressed like some receivers tend to in their third year? Not saying Peyton isn't great, and he makes players better because he does. But he's also the exception to the rule.

I know this question is not probable, but...Would you trade Cam Newton for Cleveland's 2 Number 1 picks? Just curious, I know Chud loves Cam and we need a QB1.

1 post 1 thread. Isn't there a post limit on this forum?

Is there a GM around the league who would say that? Bill Polian thinks he's in the bottom half of young QBs and he's probably right. It's not a matter of what we would take, it's a matter of if Cleveland would ever make such an offer to a third year QB who hasn't even managed a winning record yet.

Honestly, NO. Never. The Panthers self-destructing has nothing to do with Newton. He's a once-in-a-generational talent. He needs weapons, protection and a competent coaching staff.

It better be for more than 2 god damn firsts....they HAVE to give up more....or DG is a complete toolbag.

speaking of Cam, that dude is fast. Did you see him outrun that DB on that last INT. They were shoulder to shoulder. That should have been an easy pick six.

by the way, I hope you watch more games than you have posts on this forum.

It's definitely not a legitimate trade rumor. It happened just like the Hakeem Nicks being thrown in the Beason trade "rumor" happened. Someone said something with wishful thinking and people on twitter ran with it...

i would need at least 5 first rounds for cam.

this isn't a matter of cam being worth 5 first rounders, it's a matter of that's what we would need to improve with a new qb. if you think a rookie qb (bridgewater, for example, as he is a stud and best qb in the class) could come in and ball out with our supporting cast you are out of your mind.

point is no QB outside of the big 3 (brady, manning, rodgers) would be successful in our offense. that is a result of our lack of talent and terrible scheme.

Heck, brady is not doing so well himself(56% completion). Even with a great OL. So you can hike that up to 6 first rounders.
