How about that ranking of the young qbs during the pregame show:

1. Luck

2. Wilson

3. Kaep

4. Griffin

5. Newton

I called bullshit in my living room.

Stop watching. Yes, you're forced into tuning into some of the live events, but the crap? Stop watching it. Just trust me. You'll be happier for it.

It isn't even Newton being that low that's absurd. Griffin has no business being over Dalton. That guy is riding the hype like nobody I have ever seen. If some injury were to end his career, you'd have analysts trying to get him inducted into the Hall based on the notion of "well i mean yeah but he would've made it anyways herp derp!"

Kaepernick's play hasn't exactly been something to fawn over either.

A few days ago you and I talked about Cam, and where he would be at in a WCO. This is truly the WCO.

I think now Cam could run this effectively. His rookie year I had doubts, but I am starting to believe he would be just fine in that type of offense

Did you miss the 35 yd laser to wayne in the first quarter? If you really think Luck will ever be on a bench...... He will prob be a HOFer one day

You mean that predetermined trick flea flicker? No one says he can't make a completion, after all he is a professional getting paid million, but his ability only limit him to 4 yards routes.

I agree on not reaching for a LT, think one of those three will be there though. Not so sure on ASJ. He's a talent no doubt, but he also comes with some baggage. I've seen him anywhere from top 15, to mid second rounder which is about the range I see him at. There's a chance (I'll admit it's small) that he could be there when we pick in the second round. I have Ebron and him pretty close though, and would love either on this team....

Agree. As bad as we need an OT, theres no need to reach for one. It's a somewhat deep class. A "Seantrel Henderson (LOVE!!!) or James Hurst may be available in the 2nd round. If the Top3 (Matthews/Lewan/Kouandjio) are all gone, "take" the best available WR (Lee/Watkins/Evans) or Cornerback. I would love to get a hand on ASJ too. The OL position is getting way too much of hype. We saw teams reached for imo guys who shouldnt have been taken that high (Fisher/Johnson) and it's clearly showing. They are struggling badly. I do believe that the 2014 class of OL are a lot better than the previous 2013, but after the Top3 OTs, I dont think there's much separation. Unless, we choose to go OG high with a Cyril Richardson or Gabe Jackson; I would not mind.

If Matthews, Lewan and Kouandjio are gone, we should just draft a LT in the second round. There's a dropoff after those three.

Seferian-Jenkins is going in the first. No way he goes in the second. He's being viewed as the next Tony Gonzalez.

The RT from A&M Cedric OGabohi sp is a pretty good tackle prospect and could be better suited as a LT. Reminds me of Tyron Smith as he is that athletic. RJr that started at RG last year and RT this year. Probably a 1st or 2nd rounder.

Lane Johnson is still raw as hell and improving. He'll be great in time. Fisher you may have a point on, but it's impossible to judge for at least two seasons if not more...

I know I told Ruff I wouldn't feed the trolls but forget it. Luck averaged 39 passes a game in 2012, and is averaging 31 in 2013 so yea....not a game manager by any stretch of the imagination....

And when they asked him to throw those 39 passes in 2012, what was his INT rate. Anybody can throw the football 40 times per game doesn't guarantee they'll all get to your receiver. It's not that you throw it, it's the result. Lol

I dont know. I actually like Fisher a little bit more than Johnson. I was not a fan of neither. It's ammature, but I got Johnson as a 2nd rounder on my meaningless board. The only OL who have proved me wrong so far is Fluker. That boy definitely is looking like a beast. I think Fisher will be a better player than Johnson.

Yep everyone talks about Matthews (rightfully so, he's the best OT I've seen since Thomas), but Ogbuhei is great in his own right. I would tend to agree, when I watch him I see flexibility and athleticism that is suited to LT.

lol Luck is a 1 read and run QB.

You notice that too. Lol

He's running all over the place and he has good protection. Like a chicken with no head.

    • I think at some point you top out what God gave you.  He can use leverage via his mechanics to maximize what he has and When he pays attention to it the throws are better.    IMO as a layman a lot of it is what kind of ‘headroom’ you have. The guys who are gifted don’t have to use maximum effort to get good results and stay within themselves but they have it in reserve. They can do an arm throw for substantial distance without max effort.    I think what we may be seeing with these ‘lasers’ is a throw that Bryce puts the max effort into and does his mechanics right and has his base right and it works together.    To get to the payoff here, I think his best velocity throws take dall that whereas  a naturally gifted guy doesn’t need to go full effort to get that same velocity. I have said this three or four times over the years and it never gets picked up on but the accuracy is more consistent with an easier motion and max effort can produce less predictable location. It is a baseball pitcher thing but it applies to throwing a pass too. It isn’t that you can’t make an accurate throw with full effort it is just not as reliably accurate to the same degree. Someone said something about his pro day and that is where I saw it too. He took a little extra step on the deep throws. Some call it a hitch but I don’t see it that way because I don’t see it on shorter throws. He does it trying to get distance. I saw that and just wanted no part of it at 1.1 . That is not tne characteristic of a 1.1 passer.  He should have been at best, late first  I had him second day. Of course I am no one and certainly not a pro evaluator, it is just that he WS so easy to suss out. They must have thought they could fix him. Changing a lifelong throwing motion with the footwork tied into it is not fuging easy. Anyone that had decent success with ‘their’ way and tried to change it to get more, can tell you that.
    • Sounds like a tad bit of what Josh Allen had. He would make throws that made zero sense die to his desire to make a make. Bryce also turns the ball over believing their is an unlimited shot clock in those moments. Sometimes the best play is to reset for the next one.
    • See, I think one of his biggest issues is he bails too early.  His instinct has been to bail as soon as defenders get behind him and the pocket starts to close in. Taller QBs hang in there for that extra second or two and throw over guys as the pocket collapses in the QBs lap.  BY runs as soon as this starts to happen, which means routes don’t have time to develop and the field gets cut in half as soon as he runs. This last game I saw some signs of him being willing to hang in the pocket when the defense gets behind him, but that has been rare.
