RIP: ESPN chokes to death eating crow

Again, Cam has a better QBR and far more yards per attempt than Luck. Luck is good and had a good game last night but was also fortunate to get the win after going 1-6 in the 4th quarter and Denver fumbling. His team also gave him the breaks in the Seahawks and Raiders games that our team did not give Cam in the Seahawks and Bills games.

Depends on taste of superhero I guess. I would rather have Superman (and his ceiling) than Captain America. Some wouldn't I guess.

Luck has far more talent around him and has peaked. Can is still becoming better and will be a better QB when its said and done.

The way this forum downplays anything Luck just to feel better about Cam is quite humorous.

I don't downplay Luck. I believe he is extremely talented. But the truth is TEAMS win games. Cam broke records taking an offense from 32nd in the league to 7th. That has nothing to do with defense or special teams. Not to mention Cam's rookie year we played Saints 13-3 & Falcons 11-5. Tough division. Cam & Luck only play one part of the game. There have been games Cam marched us down the field to put us in the lead only for the D to allow a score from the other team. Great comparison:

Pats game against Jets Sunday. Did Brady not orchestrate a game winning/game saving drive only for his D to allow Geno to drive down field and win with a FG?

Does that make Geno better than Brady? Because the JETS won?

Record/Wins are overrated when it comes to determining how good a player is. Drew Brees missed playoffs, Christian Ponder didn't. AP's team only has 1 win, Moreno's team only has 1 loss.

Too many things come in too play.

I'm curious: Do you know more about how the Colts ended up with such a good record despite being outscored?

They won close games against teams like MIA, CLE, JAC, TEN, BUF when they were all bad and got 50+ points scored on em by NE. When they played good teams they got beat bad.

Pie for the explanation, good sir. I suspected something like this, but I was too lazy to look it up  :P

So the Colts are better than the pretenders, and not as good as the contenders? If there are not enough contenders to fill out the field, you need the semi-good team to step up. That was the Colts.

They are us, just in the AFC. If a few contenders falter, it is our opportunity to take their seat at the table. We are .500, but with only 3 losses. We have a ridiculously easy schedule.

Protect our house. Steal one from the 9ers or aintz on the road. We very well could be going into Alt., in week 17, with lots to play for. Or not of course.

Same for the Colts.

Our QBs will determine how far our teams go. Luck is fine, he be good. I get it. But I gots Cam. I win.

We let Cam be Cam. Cam is playing great, hey, for the most part, and our Offense is looking really really good. Oh by the way. Lost in all this is the fact that Cam is having fun again. No more talk about who he is. He is Cam. And if he is having fun, we are having fun. I can live with that.

tl/dr version. If we continue to put those WTF? moments in our rear-view mirror. We gonna be good, very good on Offense. Teamed with our Defense, this team can be a force to be reckoned with.

The Colts were also insanely Lucky last year, pun intended, actually being outscored on the year by more than the Panthers, yet having an 11-5 record compared to 7-9. Crazy.

Without a few boneheaded plays, we could have also been 11-5.

Chicago, Seattle, Dallas, Atlanta, second TB game. We should have won all of them.

    • Yeah. How he shows up in training camp with a year of NFL training and nutrition will tell us all we need to know.  Side note... how has Bryce still managed not to find the weight room?
    • I hope he finds his lane in year 2.  Now that we signed Walker, I'm really intrigued how Dan feels about the DL. Is there a piece there in R1 that presents value/BPA and fills a void for one of the spots w/ DB and Wharton.  I'll give Wharton another year to show us why he was signed here. With A'Shawn gone, I don't think BBIII is it.  Our edges are set and our LBs are balanced. Horn/Mike Jack and Moehrig will hold the secondary together. DB is, well...DB.  However, I think this is an area that is the biggest question mark right now. I see 1 of 3 spots that are locked and loaded for us. If we move to a 4 down front, I assume Phillips would slide down to be the additional linemen, but we still have questions about the other two spots in either scheme.  I'd feel better with a tradeback, but I do wonder how McDonald would do here. Maybe Woods....but McDonald really does peek my interest.  Or, can Jackson take that next step. The coaching staff speaks highly of him for what little he played. Here's hoping he stays healthy and comes into TC with something to prove. There's a spot to be taken, here's hoping he takes it.
