As heard on Sunday Night Football from Chris Collinsworth when he was talking about the Packers destroying the Vikings, and though the Vikings defense wasn't good, it was still impressive.  So why is this thread here?  The parts of the quote that matter to us:

 

"...this has been impressive... understand this isn't Kansas City or Carolina..."

 

Respect.  It's nice to have it for our defense... They deserve it.

I think it depends how we lose.  If it's not blowouts, I think we'll keep hearing people talking up our defense.

 

I think that's the first time I've heard us referenced as a team (as in, not a reference to a player) in such a positive manner outside of one of our own broadcasts in forever...

Our defense is playing with attitude, and that's helping with the respect.  We should be feared.

I tend to believe our 2013 defense is similar to 2002's. We're not quite there yet. A piece here or there could put us over the top though.

 

That piece really needs to go on the other side of the ball in the form of a bookend tackle or a stud #1 WR and then we will also have a super bowl caliber offense.

i think that contributes some to why he's so hated...he tells the good and bad truth about teams because he actually knows what he's talking about. As annoying as his voice sounds when he says it, he's knowledgeable

What a difference a year makes.  That quote would have had a very different meaning last year, especially at this time of year :P
