Smitty

I am just going by what I saw from the stands.  It could've been a miscommunication, but from where I was sitting it looked like he quit on the route.  He slowed up and watched the ball go over his head.

I would like to see a replay of the play to definitely say either way.

That's what I saw too. I spent the next five minutes trying to figure out what Cam and Smitty were thinking on that play, especially Smitty appearing to give up on the ball.

He had another not so good game.  Dropped yet another pass in the first quarter, gave up on a route at the end of the first half that resulted in an interception.  The interception was all on him.

Apparently didn't want to talk to reporters after the game either:  http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/98059/locker-room-buzz-carolina-panthers-7

He's a perfectionist like his QB.

Cam overthrew him quite a few times today.  But there is no doubt about it, the INT was Smith's fault.  Cam expected Smith to continue his route into the back in the endzone, and he threw it PERFECTLY, that ball was either going to be a Smith catch or incompletion.  But Smith stopped, and the DB finished his route for him and caught it with no contention.  If Smith had just continued, he could have easily kept the guy from getting 2 feet in.

Yeah I caught it on NFL.com. It's help you all to reserve your judgement and save time for everyone else by posting whose fault it was. Miscommunications happen and believe it or not, are not an indicator that Cam sucks or Smitty is too old to challenge for the ball anymore.
