what 49er fans are saying

If the Panthers beat the Niners come Sunday, I will be in here to eat my crow. I wouldn't even bother posting here if i didn't intend to.

Very classy of you. I look forward to having a post game discussion with you no matter what the outcome.

Bottom line us there are two similar teams and both are playing well.

Logical 49er fans know it will be a good game but we have no reason to believe we will lose to the Panthers. We simply we know we are the better team.

Do you not see the irony in that post? :)

The Panthers have a better QB. That in of itself is worth a lot of weight and mitigates whatever perceived advantages you may have in other areas.

Wow, this guy has like only 3 words in his vocabulary.

I have no idea who will win this game as I can see it going either way tbh. This definitely is the test though that tells us if the Panthers are for real or not.

Yes, I made a grammatical error while at the same time labeling myself a "logical" fan. Nice catch.

I guess I should go ahead and concede victory to the Panthers now right? Especially since they clearly have the better QB.

They did wax Green Bay, though. Just sayin.

Green Bay also talked all that noise all off season about foolishly overplaying the zone read.....which is silly.  That is why Kapernick had a wildly uncharacteristic day passing.

Look at Tim Teb0w vs Pitt....you can't overplay it.

I seriously don't see us winning this game, so I don't see why everyone is talking so much trash.

I understand believing in your team no matter what, but it makes us look like an arrogant Steelers-esque fanbase.

people only take issue w/ the general assumption 49ers will win 30-3.  The gap between these 2 teams isn't big if both show up

Other than the fact that statistically we have a better offense and defense than both Indy and Seattle?  Our defense has been comparable to SF and our offense has been better?

You can question our secondary all you want, but we are #1, I will say that again, #1 in the NFL in interceptions per defensive possession.

Our defense is also #1 in the NFL in turnovers per drive as we are also #5 in fumbles per drive.

You guys better be able to run the ball against us and take care of the ball or else you will be in more trouble than you think.

BTW, San Francisco's defense is 27th in the NFL in TDs to FGs ratio, are 20th in red zone points, and are 28th in Red Zone TDs.

If we take care of the ball, we will score points.  If we throw picks, have some drops, or turn it over in general, it will be a lot like the Zona game.

#1 priority should be protect the football.  If we do that we will win.  If we don't, we won't.

field position is gonna be critical in this game, so a hyped-up ginn returning kicks and punts could be huge for us.

I'm thinking a very big day for Stewart in the screen game.

Vernon Davis worries me.....not sure what Rivera/McDermott have planned. I do think Kap will avoid the middle of the field if Keek is roaming.

we got to be careful w/ those screens....especially against this D.  Luke would sniff it out and pick it as much as we ran them against Atl.

We have our own Davis to take care of that  ;)

Luke has great closing speed too.  I think Luke can spy Kaep.

They are tough to defend, but if you put them in passing situations you can have success against them

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
