The Future

I know all of us are excited by the win at SF and with our prospects for the rest of the season, but I think it's even more exciting if you look ahead a bit to how good we can be next year and beyond.

 

Our biggest weakness is our offense, particularly the OL and WR corp. Imagine if we upgrade those positions (as we almost certainly will) and get a legit #1 WR for Cam to work with for the next 5+ years, finally get the interior OL settled, and figure out a long-term solution at LT.

 

We could just be seeing the beginning here, folks. I think Cam is better than he's played this year. Give him a top pass blocking OL and a WR corp. that doesn't routinely drop 3-4 passes a game and another year or two to further develop and we could be seeing the rise of a true juggernaut here.

Indeed. This defensive rookie class has been outstanding. And these are young guys, too. They'll (presumably) only get better. Just phenomenal scouting.

As long as we can retain most of our guys, while finding some help on the OL and a #1 WR (while moving Smitty to the slot full time), this team will be scary. Really scary.

It will ultimately come down to staying healthy and how our young guys develop, along with do we hit on who we select in the draft. If we take Marquise Lee and he's another Dwayne Jarrett we are fuged
