Yes, you saw what Cam did without a great defense. 6-10 and 7-9 respectively. His stats have been pretty consistent from his rookie year, improving slightly.

 

RW would probably be in the same boat as Cam without his surrounding cast. Same stats but  different record.

No. I don't think Wilson would have similar stats (and I like him). I think he would have struggled in Carolina. 

 

Wilson doesn't strike me as the type of QB who can carry a team, along with the pressure. Obviously, neither did Seattle, as they eased him into his role (openly relying on their defense and rushing), while Cam was thrown into his. 

 

Remember, the Panthers were rarely blown out Cam's first two years. Many/most of their losses were winnable. They just needed experience, confidence, and good coaching. 

 

Not sure they would have been in those type of games with Wilson right off the bat as the Panthers were with Cam. But (hey) that's just my viewpoint.

What I got from this game is:

1) the 49ers are not as good as advertised

2) the Saints are playing very good right now

 

But they lose if the refs don't hand the game to them...

Saints fans are a trip.  Complaining about how the league is soft all up until this game, then Brees gets hit (which was a legit tackle), and it's "oh, its the right call."  Oh well, sucks for San Fran.  They're definitely not catching Seattle now, and a conference loss is not good at this point in time.

That was a BS flag on the drew Brees hit that should have ended the game. Still nice choke-job by the niners though. Never been this mad over a non-panther game in a while. It's ok, I still think we can handle the saints twice
