Gettlemen has done a decent job with a patchwork secondary....

Outside of Captain who is a decent nickel....he has a brand new secondary vs last season.

White didn't have his best day but I am more comfortable with him than the Josh boys. I was also hard on Florence and he has quietly been solid.

I'm starting to notice a weird trend with Ron Rivera, he seems to coach or scheme better with less talent! Every time the defense or offense has had an injury we seem to get better immediately the next game. Think of our projected offensive line this year, then fast forward to last night, I don't remember hearing too many negative comments about our converted defensive lineman last night. We have guys starting on defense we cut at one time, we have multiple udfa getting major playing time.

Very impressed with the staff this year

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, the oline and cbs are still a major problem. Oline got no push last night and we're clearly still giving up short-intermediate routes to make up for inferior talent at cb.

"Our patch work oline including a back up DT playing guard that only gave up 3 sacks last night, and our secondary compiled of free agent no names and undrafted players that stopped Tom Brady from a game winning drive have done an incredible job but let's not give them any credit at all and continue to find things to complain about instead of enjoying the success and giving our teammates props."

    • It goes deeper than that for me. When I started watching the Panthers as a kid I fell in love with Mark Fields’ story during that SB run. He wore #58. Then TD wore it and kept the tradition of the being the soul of the Panthers. The next time someone wears #58 I hope brings that same spirit
    • T-Mac is a nickname, Tet is a shortening of Tetairoa. Like you said below... your name is Jonathan, I could see "Jonny" being considered a nickname, but Jon isn't a nickname, it's a shortening of Johnathan, see the difference? And if your mom named you Jonathan for it's biblical significance/meaning, because she was very religious, I think it would be different. T-Mac is Polynesian, so much in their culture has deeper meaning for them, particularly names.  So for his mom to feel this way, I highly doubt it's just because she likes the name Tetairoa and not Tet, it's much more likely than not to be because the name itself has a deeper meaning in their culture.   Particularly as T-Mac himself has often talked about how much his Polynesian heritage means to himself and his family. And no, I'm not saying all this because of how much he's my guy, if he was just "normal american" and his name was Jonathan and he didn't like fans calling him Jon, I'd probably just say tough poo.  It's that he's Polynesian and I know things like names have a much deeper meaning in their culture than they do in ours for the most part. For whatever it's worth, a quick google search.......
