New Power Rankings Out

Dissagree that we should be behind NE....but the rest are OK by me.

I saw two guys arguing over placing NE over Carolina where one said "you know the refs beat New England not Carolina!"

Ok it was Mike n Mike....shoulda just left it ambigious...Greenberg had us number 2 and said it is a solid number 2.

Hardly anyone realizes we played Seattle week 1 and had a go ahead score with 1:29 left...until Deangleo...well you know.

2 months ago, I was down on Rivera, Cam, this team in general.  I was looking forward to Gettlemen gutting the squad and, since Marty Hurney is an idiot, it would take 3 more years of losing to begin rebuilding,

2 months ago....And I was not wrong.

This week, I think we are going to win IN New Orleans.

My power rankings:

Seattle

Denver

Carolina

New Orleans

San Francisco

You forgot the you were wrong part of your post.

Not really, because I wasn't.  There is a difference between productivity and potential.  Everyone is operating on the assumption that they know what the problem was--I think I do--hear me out

Maturity.   We had a young coach, a young QB, a young DC, and (last year) a young OC and an unproven one this year.

Cam was not playing up to his potential (2-14) in games we were leading in the 4th.  Rivera was not coaching up to his potential--playing it safe and never giving his talent a chance to shine.

I was not wrong.  When we started winning, everyone noted the changes I had been asking for---more leadership from Cam, better game management from Rivera.

The line is worse now than when we were losing.  We have the same receivers.  What changed?  I was not wrong, but I am happy that I am no longer right about that stuff.

Yupperz. I have been on this train since late last year. And even I don't see us as the "Best" team in the league. Maybe next year, with a couple of the right upgrades. Just not right now. We are close for sure. Just not quite there yet.

We are capable of playing with anyone, that is for sure. The only thing I see against us, is our playoff inexperience.

We still can take it all this year. But it is the future that excites me the most. We are just getting started up in here.

Soo.. I have to ask you.. How much playoff experience did our guys from the 2003 squad have? Sorry but I think that whole Playoff experience crap is overrated. However I will agree with you that the future does look very bright and it's only the beginning!

i think we fit in at 2 better than 3.

I fully believe we can beat the top teams in this league. Seahawks, Broncos, Patriots, Saints.    that said, out of those teams, I only think that seattle as the higher "average talent" across the entire team. we have better players at key positions, but they are a very talented and complete team all around.   that  by no interpretation means we cant beat them.. hell we should have beat them.   I just wish we had one of their secondary players.

The thing thats scary about the panthers is they are still young, and therefore still growing. when your seattle and at teh top of your game, you dont have alot of room for growth.. i think anyone who watches our team knows there is PLENTY of room to get better.. and if we get much more better than we are now, we could be talking dynasty.

Im thinking about it like this.  We win out, get first round bye.  at least one home game... probably 2 because i think the seahawks peaked against the saints.   but regardless of where we play.. i think we win.. because we are hungry.   And the one thing that we have in our favor against ANY AFC team in the superbowl.....

THE WEATHER REPORT.  :)   (almanac calling it the storm bowl!!)

Right now, I'd say the Panthers are a top 7 team due to our vulnerability of the deep threat in the secondary, lack of a young talented receiver corps and inconsistent offensive production due to inability to run the ball at times.  I think San Fran, Denver, Pats, Saints and Seattle are better teams.  The Panthers can beat all of these teams but still concerned about the secondary.

If we beat  NO this weekend, that elevates Panthers to Top 5.  Will Ron, Shula and Cam make the right decisions in a hostile environment this weekend?  Panthers win this one, definitely a top-5 team as confidence continues to build and grow with a winning mentality to win the close games.

After cams first season I predicted playoffs and Super Bowl within the next 3 to 5 years...playoffs should be a given, and Super Bowl chances are looking pretty good right about now...I think we are one of the few teams that can go anywhere and win including SEATTLE. Man I hope we get them at home for the NFC champ game and we take it from them...sweet revenge...

If we have beat the Seahawks in the week 1, it will be us sitting on the top.

Oh wow. A lot to work with here, so I'll simplify it.

"If we would have beaten the Seahawks in Week One, it would be us sitting on the top."

See how much better that looks?

I would go through every error with your sentence but my time is more valuable than that. Just keep re-reading my correction and learn. Please.

You're welcome.

It would not be us sitting " on the top".....it would be us sitting "on top".

You FAIL
