Change in Newton from Arizona to now

Early dropped passes definitely killed our momentum.  I'm not saying had they been caught that we would have won.  But the game would have had a different feel to it overall.  Thing is, now we are persevering through those types of mistakes, so, that's a positive.

Biggest thing about Arizona game was after the game. Cam got zilch protection hit all day, and the Panthers lost a game they should have won. A year ago Cam would have talked about "suggestion boxes" and done everything but lead. This year after Arizona he talked about taking responsibility for the loss; how he could make quicker reads, and better decisions to stop sacks. That's the kind of thing a team rallies around. The O-line and everyone on offense wants to play better for "That Guy".

Huh?

Cam always takes/took responsibility after every loss. He never passed the buck.

The "suggestion box" was an off the cuff, "jokey" type of remark, based off redundant questioning, following one painful loss after another. Now whether [some of us think] it was exaggerated by the media or not, I'll leave that to your conclusion?

The media obviously wanted Cam to throw someone under the bus, and he didn't bite. So instead, they lampooned his "suggestion box", because he didn't cite anyone in the organization for team repeatedly coming up short and not living up to 2012 expectations.

I think Cam's maturation has been more-so on the field. In 2013, it appears, when things don't go his--or the teams way; he hangs in there and keeps his composure (by not letting it affect his play or the teams game plan) more so than in the past. [i.e.] Now he's more of a gamer to be counted on, after on field adversity. He doesn't appear to press as much either, or try to win the game by himself with unnecessary big plays down field.

Now, getting back to the media and Newton Post Game Press Conferences: Cam has always said the right things about his teammates and coaches from day one, despite what the National media may want you to believe. He's been an utmost professional in that respect. He's even been the consummate professional with the media, despite all the trash they've thrown his way.

Dude haven't u been watching espn. Cam is maturing. But only when he wins. On the other hand..... Drew brees has been fully matured since he was 4.

Can has been on a roll and playing like a grown man. It's great to see

And it's amazing how little they themselves have matured. They are still trying to find ways of saving face by this new spin of Cam and his "maturity."  Got to love the new talking point about how this sudden burst of "maturity" in Cam is helping the Panthers win. Espeically when just last season he was being turned into a reincarnation of Vince Young over every little thing he did or said.

I must admit, I do enjoy watching RG III and Luck behaving just as extremely bothered and annoyed, as Cam did, when their team lose, as  just to watch those on ESPN/NFLN make excuses for their behavior. Something they NEVER did with Cam. Well in Luck's case, they don't even mention his behavior or body language. Only RG's seems to bother the lower level reporters where those at ESPN/NFLN have to defend him.

Since the Arizona game the Panthers have really been responding., When teams get down in the red zone they  come up with big plays, getting the turnover or holding them to three.

The defense is the engine that drives this Panthers train, so  it's important  for this unit to keep playing like that.. That's what's going to separate us from other teams once we get into the playoffs.
