Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera has finally embraced his new nickname, even if it’s just for charity.

Rivera, who has stated several times he’s not of fan of the nickname “Riverboat Ron,” said Friday he and his wife, Stephanie, are looking at ways to use the name to give money to charity.

The Panthers coach works with three charities: the Ronald McDonald House, the Humane Society of Charlotte and the USO of North Carolina.

So is it now the Riverboat Ronald McDonald House?

I wish he'd embrace that poo and wear the hat on the sidelines.

if we win the superbowl ron needs to put that poo on and tear off his panthers jacket to reveal and ice up son t-shirt. i would quit my job and drop out of school and take up an apprenticeship with a sculptor and commemorate that moment in bronze for all eternity

    • Man, I havent posted in a while, happy to see the forum is alive and well!  Really excited about this upcoming season, and this draft class!  Lee Hunter will be an instant fan favorite, i might go ahead and purchase his jersey.  Will be interesting to see what we do at Receiver, a lot of talent and a lot of bodies, does XL get traded, or do they give him a shot this season to see what he has?
    • Goings was good too.
    • I appreciate TMo, he has been a rock. Plug and play, set and forget. But there are stories that they ice his knees or knee in game when he goes to the sidelines. If it is that bad that is pretty rough and it probably won’t get better with age and more wear.     You want to pay him, and commit that money, I shouldn’t object. But let’s at least roll him over a year at a time.  He isn’t a particularly good long term gamble.
