I think its utterly ridiculous that the NFL *still* seeds suck-ass division winners

Winning the division should give the team a post season bid but not automatic homefield playoff game....conference superiority changes too often and a team shouldn't be penalized for playing in a weaker division one year compared to the next...win your division you get to goto the playoffs...win your division with a 9-7 and you might be traveling on the road for your first game...... .KEEP POUNDING!!!!

Yea it's unfair. The NBA awards better records with HFA like it should go

Difference is NBA teams see most everyone every year.

NFL schedules are heavily weighted based on your division competition and whatever division you happen to be playing that year.

Every team knows what they have to do week 1 to have home field or a bye.

Do it.

It goes both ways. Say we won our division this year at 8-8, but the rules were different and we had to travel to a Wild Card team's stadium to play, someone here would complain that "they didn't even win their division!!!!"

Exactly.

Imagine if we win the division this year  at 11-5 and you want to hit the road because Seattle and San Fransisco have better records potentially?

Seattle 14-2, Frisco 12-4.

Oh the whining that would follow.

I don't get your point. If you're not the number 1 seed you're going to have to travel regardless. They rank the top 4 teams off the divisions from 1-4 based on record. So why say number 1 gets HFA over 2 cause of their record, but a wildcard with a better record don't

Point is if we were a 9-7 team like Philly potentially will be, a division winning team and you had to travel to an 11-5 Frisco team, most Eagle (Panther) fans would be whining we won the division and deserve a home playoff game.

Damn a better record wild card team.
