Riverboat Ron predicted this would happen...

Us playing the Saints for all the marbles...

I love the very last quote by Jordan...you really get the sense that all the players love his style and really believe in him and themselves.

Riverboat Ron knew all along.

From Carolina's win over the New York Jets on Sunday to theNew Orleans Saints falling to the St. Louis RamsPantherscoach Ron Rivera predicted the course of the NFC South more than a week ago, according to one of his players.

"(He) told us that was going to happen," offensive tackle Jordan Gross said Sunday, per The Charlotte Observer. "I didn't know he was a fortune-teller. (After the Week 14 loss to New Orleans) he said keep believing and keep working, because the Saintsare going to lose one on the road and we're going to play them in two weeks for the division title."

More than just that. A victory over the Saints next Sundaycoupled with a win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17 would hand the Panthers a bye as the conference's second seed. Quite a comeback after Carolina started 1-3 amid whispers that Rivera would be sent to the bread line after the season.

Rivera's job is safe, largely because he adapted and evolved during a campaign that's seen Carolina morph into a beast down the stretch. We'd argue that the Panthers are the NFC's brightest hope to challenge the Seahawks in Seattle if that's what it boils down to in January.

"That guy believes, man," Gross said. "It's pretty infectious."

I <3 Riverboat Ron

I was pissed when he opted to go for it and didn't take the field goal yesterday in the 3rd. He is still developing that decision making skill set. But damn if the players don't fight hard for the guy. These guys genuinely want to get that W for Rivera. That means he is more than a "players coach" because players coaches can lose respect pretty easily.

I have been a fan of what we were doing schematically since he has been here. It was just a matter of everything coming together at the same time.

I was worried about some of his decisions, but was more worried about a lack of identity. I think we have finally found out who we are.

    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
    • It was always a matter of time with Cam’s playing style and a shorter shelf life than passers that protect themselves. I suppose Cam could have still been playing in 2028 ten years after the hit took place, but he would need to have evolved as a quarterback and become more of a passer than the dual threat maestro he was. It’s sad because it makes us think of what could have been, but I do feel it was always a matter of time until all the hits took their toll.
