Whether he did anything or not I wouldn't be surprised if he looses out on this, or ends up settling it quietly. Civil suits are usually slanted in the plaintiffs advantage. The defendant basically has to prove they did no harm vs the assumption of innocence until proven guilty in a criminal case.

It is almost comical how damn near every thread on here becomes racial at some point. At least you can depend on the consistency of some people who post on here.

The case with Kobe started with criminal charges being filed quickly after the "alleged" incident.

This is a little different in that it is only a civil suit being filed a year after the "alleged" event.

Not inferring that one happened and the other didn't, but the latter smells a little more fishy on the surface....no pun intended.

how is it comical,when race does play a major role in everything.im saying espn should be all over this hell they thrive for poo like this but since its a civil case they aren't going to touch it is bs.hell i know kobe banged that girl just like ben banged this girl.

No, no you don't. The trial hasn't even started. You know that we are innocent until proven guilty regardless of color or charge. Of course that seems to be more theory than in practice in public opinion, which I don't agree with. I agree with you, they would be all over this if it was not their golden child. And that's wrong, it's just wrong. But we can't convict until the evidence comes out. That would be wrong too...

I'm with you on a double standard, but with this being a civil case it's more personnel than public, the KB case and this one don't necessarily compare as far as news worthiness..

Your neighbor could file a civil suit for your dog crapping on his lawn. Pro athletes, and their life styles (actually their wallets) are big ol targets, I'm amazed they don't get targeted more often... Fish in a barrel.

kobe admitted he cheated, and in ben situation im pretty sure that lady wanted too.its not rape when both sides says its ok.all im saying is yeah she might have felt bad after and now she trying to save face.im not accusing him of rape.

bc it shows how unconsistant things are.when blacks are in wrong,we hang them.when a white guy does it,he just don't know any better slap on the wrist.i hate that race plays part into things but real poo it does.

I don't like it either, I think it sucks, but you freely admit that you think it was consensual sex with regrets afterward, so I asked the question based upon that statement...

No, some choose to use their brain instead of conveniently pulling out the race card instead. As far as Kobe, I think most may agree that he didn't rape her, but the issue most people had with Kobe was that he cheated on his wife. Im sure most people here would feel the same if Ben was married AND he admitted having sex with another woman.

      Right, so basically what I said in my first post about this last night. Tepper needs to use that big wallet of his in one of the few ways it can be used in the NFL given the cap.   Give Scourton a bigger signing bonus but not a fully guaranteed deal. Everyone wins in that scenario as if Scourton is smart and hires good money people, he'll take that bigger signing bonus and use it to make more money in the end over the next 4 years than if he just had his fully guaranteed deal and a smaller signing bonus.

      It is all confusing and layered. SB is the cash you get very soon within weeks or in simple terms, its what you get to sign the paper work. Players and agents can agree on contract but what to "wait" to sign......teams don't like that cause you can "Carlos Boozer" yourself. Tepper can give you 100,000,000 SB right now and the team can spread out the cap hit. Another owner doesn't have or want to give the player 100,000,000 in cash, but offered the same guaranteed contract in roster bonuses fully guaranteed over the next few years........ Which one do you want??? Everyone wants the money now, not before another inflation waves hits in 2 years. So it does 'pay" to have a owner like tepper that's able to have real cash on hand, while it also works GREAT for cap help.
