Sound Off: Packers, Niners, or Eagles?

You can't deny they've been a different team with Foles in the lineup. All of those loess came with Vick and Barkley. And if you watched that preseason game our defense looked lost. The score doesn't indicate what the game looked like when the starters were out there. It does give me confidence that our defense is a lot better now than it was then.

Still don't sleep on the Eagles. I don't think they'll get by the Saints because the Saints can put up the points, but they're a dangerous team

Come on man you're talking about preseason and saying that the Eagles are a different team now.  Do you not think we are a different team now?

Also....how are you saying the Eagles won't beat the Saints at home, but that we should be worried about them beating us in Charlotte?

Defense wins Championships.

You guys don't read you just jump into discussions without knowing context. Hatter brought up the preseason. AND I said THIS defense is a lot better than it was then. So read first.

Secondly I said it was about matchups. Philly can put up some points and regardless of what you guys want to believe New Orleans can score with them. They don't have a dominating defense like we do that can slow down Brees.

We don't have the offense that's capable of winning a shoot out if it comes to that. That one game they loss with Nick Foles as the starter Minnesota put up 48. We aren't scoring 48 points.

I believe we can beat them just like I believe we can beat any team, but when facing top offenses all year our games have come down to one possession, so let's not act like Philly will be push overs.

And like John Lynch said, defense gives you the opputunity to win championships, the offense still has to put up points.

I in no way think they're a pushover. But I don't think their D is going to be able to take us out of our ToP game.

Atlanta D isn't stellar and we struggled to move the ball against them. Our defense isn't what worries me. I've watched Philly a few times this year and when they score they score fast. Our offense is going to have to put up points no matter who we play

I am not sleeping on the Eagles.

I just believe that we can beat any team in the NFC right now.  I want the Eagles becasue I think SF can take care of Seattle.

I want the NFCC Game in Charlotte.

And I understand that way of thinking, but we have to do our jobs as well. So many people in the media went from Carolina is winning, but they won't make the playoffs. Then it was well they won't win the division. And now it's they won't win a playoff game.

You mean the Eagles that went 1-1 against both the Cowboys and Giants...and barely beat the Skin? Or the Eagles that have only beaten one playoff team....the Packers when Rogers was out? Or the team that got crushed by every other good team they played?

Eagles do not scare me

no offense, but this post is full of Alice logic

My only point is that they have not beaten a quality opponent all season....they are a big ofer.  they have lost to every good team they have played.

That IS an indicator of whether their results are as good as advertised.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
