The Pride of Both Carolinas

I live in Charleston and never see anything Panthers related, both from local media as well as the team itself.

People forget that we're in the south where college football is preferred since the region seems to enjoy not paying folks to sacrifice their bodies to make old dudes money.

I found your this so funny and sadly... so truthful.

The retardation in this thread is epic..... The damn logo is a representation of North AND South Carolina. So all the upper butt crust, wine and cheese, holier than thou, closet Steeler fans that reside in NC and call themseleves Panther fans can suck it. Im sure when the Steelers make the playoffs next year they will be bouncing faster than a hooker on Trade street.

It really depends on where in SC you live. The farther from Charlotte the less people care about Panthers unless we are good. I live in Charleston and very few fans down here until a couple weeks ago when Panthers blew up. Now everyone is a Panthers fan....annoying. I grew up in Charlotte so no bias.

Any other Charleston Panthers fan recall this bullshit? I however do remember Stewart doing an appearance down here and the turnout was amazing.

However, if Charlotte is so awesome in regards the Panthers, where the hell are all the other teamers that fill up BoA coming from?

Nope,

Lived in Charleston and Summerville since 2007 when I got out of the military and they have always shown Panthers games locally.

I think there was 1 incident where they showed another game when we were 2-14 but the community had a fit and they apologized and said they would never do that again.(and they haven't)

Dood is just making poo up about not airing our games.

Was that the one the DirecTV fuged up? I know there was one where they gave the Sunday ticket free for one weekend because they didn't show the local game.

It may have been nationally from the network, not sure if it was SP oriented.

I do recall a DirecTV screw up though.

I don't really hang onto that sort of stuff I know plenty of fans around here but it is also true that before the Panthers people were mostly college, Cowboys, or some other random fan.

Just like NC still has their Redskin and Steeler nations.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
