What 49ers Fans are Saying

Ahh we meet again!

I admit, before the first game we played i thought we would dominate you guys. Boy, was I wrong. It wasn't until after that game that the Panthers started getting some serious attention from the national media.

I mean we all knew about Cam and Keuchly but I didn't know much about Davis until he eradicated Kendall Hunter lol.

The battle in the trenches is going to be one for the ages in this game. Our offense is finally 100% even though Greg Roman's playcalling is highly questionable. I thought we should have ran the ball waaaaay more against the packers but whatever, we won.

I still do not worry about you guy's offense...although, yall have Cam and a good pair of RB's, outside of an old, hobbled, Steve Smith there seems to be nothing to really worry about.

I think this game comes down to the battle of the trenches, special teams, and whichever QB makes the most costly mistake(s).

Getting Rick Flair for a speech was a nice touch as well, I know that can't sit well with yall.

We have Ted Ginn. Dude had 130 yards in one half in preseason and is due for a return TD. Fact of the matter is that he is better then all your receivers but Crabtree. Steve is just icing on the cake.

I love how fans get painted with one single brush!

I view all fans equally until they change my mind!!!!

that said...I'm not going to lie, I'm glad the taints won this weekend as I'd prefer to face them over either the niners or the panthers.  I think your game is going to be 60 minutes, or more, of smash mouth football.  Too close to predict in my opinion.

C'mon maaaaan! Teddy better than Anquan? Better than VD, which is really a receiver disguised as a TE. C'mon ... you're not serious are you?

I don't think you'll find any (reasonable) posters on here that think we "kicked your ass" in SF during the regular season... but you have to admit that our D shut your offense down.  3 FG's is not much of an outing.  Granted we only scored 10, but our offense has been hit or miss in the second half of the year.

I'm not ashamed to say that I thought we would lose to the 49ers in the regular season, I was very impressed with the game that the Panthers put up then, and that made me really believe we had something special this year.  I had the 49ers pegged as a top 3 NFC team all season.

idk how "handcuffed" Kaep has been... I haven't watched enough 49ers games this year to be knowledgeable on that... I do feel that Cam has been told to be a pocket passer and when he does run to not take any chances... I'm hoping that they will "set him free" so to speak...  I watched the game yesterday and aside from that one 42 yard run Kaep had, I didn't see him doing a whole lot of planned running?

Darth, I do admit that about your D. In fact, my post congratulating the panthers after our regular-season meeting said just that: your D dominated our O line. Looking for a different ending this time around. Not a blowout. Anyone who thinks this game will be a blowout by SF needs to watch how the INJURED GB defense played against us. Carolina D is much better and has plenty of motivation to keep rolling. The main reason I like our chances is (1) our D is equally suffocating and Kaep now has the true option of tucking the ball and running for a big gain, something that the coaching staff shut down during the regular season for fear of injury; and (2) the playoffs are a totally different beast (see GB game) and we are playoff-tested.

I don't think it'll be a blowout...  honestly it could go either way.  This is really a clash of two good teams that are built a lot alike.

I think we have an advantage of being at home (obviously) and having got our guys some rest (although the bye could play against us in several different ways).

I still think our D can handle your offense, but they are definitely capable of putting up points.  One advantage that we have that GB didn't is fast linebackers.  Their main guys were out and we have Keek and TD who really shut down option plays and screen plays.  Hardy is damned fast too for a guy his size.

Honestly I think it's going to come down to how well our offense can play.  If we get shut down on offense, we're in trouble.

We definitely don't have a MUCH better team. We match up pretty evenly across the board. I think the biggest difference is QB. Cam is much better than Kap at the moment. If Cam had Crabs, VD and Boldin....I don't even want to imagine.

Kap was drafted as a project some where in the second round. Whereas Cam was the #1 overall pick. I think Kap will be great in a couple of seasons though.

Well that sounds like a bad night in New Orleans right there.

It's gonna be a good one!

So you would take Ted Ginn over Anquan Boldin?

Every damn day. Bold in is an old man who is washed up. In a conventional offense based on time Boldin would be useless. He doesn't separate until the play breaks down and Kaep, as well as Cam, Wilson, and Luck, are all the masters of extending plays.

In all seriousness I'd like to have both of them. We need a big guy who knows how to go up and gets the ball. Right now Smitty and Olsen are our only guys capable of what Boldin does in terms of attacking the ball.

I think a bye week is just what the doctor ordered for this young team with Rookie starters. To say Star,Shrot, and White did not hit the wall would be lying. Need a break for the Rooks.

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
