Summary is basically what we all think and know here:

Steve Smith should play

How Cam played when Smith wasn't in last weeks game

I damn near cheered when he mentioned how people keep saying the Niners played bad against the Panthers, when the Panthers simply played great defense like they did against all the other teams.

Zero respect given by fans here in the Bay Area. Some of the more professional media at least says don't look past this game, but still all believe Niners win it.

their O is suspect just like ours.

i don't know how people don't see this.

Because they beat a 3-4 packers defense that has no true pass rushers. Kap needs room to operate, we may give up a chunk play or two but it won't continuously happen. The Packers were unable to cover and rush, we will be able to do both.

exactly. we have the talent to contain him. doesn't mean its going to happen. but in theory it will.

not having matthews in that game fuged GB. and the 9ers offense still had trouble scoring throughout the game. some of the blame can be put on the cold.

if kuechly and davis have big time games. we will win.

had a packers CB done his job properly and kept containment on that last big 3rd down scramble by Kap, there would have been OT in Green Bay, where we may be talking now about how we beat Rodgers this week instead.

I by no means call the 9ers "lucky", because they very well could have ended up winning in OT, but Green Bay made it much easier for them then it should have been.

Not sure how many people know this or not, but I'll let the media in on a lil secret: Carolina > Green Bay

Matthews is invaluable to that team. I saw some runs Kap had where the Linebackers were unable to take the edge. Fact of the matter is that Kap slides when he sees Matthews and that would've cut down on his rushing.

they had slow ass a.j. hawk tracking him down. the key here is containing kaepernick and making him go through his reads to beat you with his arm.

our line is too dominant and sets the edge insanely well. but what puts us over the top is davis and keek. they are too fast and too football sound for kaepernick to run around our DE's and then have to beat them. kaepernick is going to have another rough day if we play to our ability.

i don't expect sub 100 yard passing game and 14 yards rushing. but we will contain that gazelle.

Rush the DE up the field with the idea of getting back up the field. Basically, run around to force Kap up, square of the linemen and run back towards the line of scrimmage, allow the DTs to beat their men and let the DE's keep him in the pocket by setting up the tackles.

    • Yeah. As a wild card team. Washington won the division at 10-6.
    • no doubt but flip that.   The current system insures that there are "regional" games in the early weeks. maximizing the reach of playoff football.  If all of the WC weekend for a conference took place on the west coast they are reducing the "reach" of their hype machine.
    • Hard to say with London--he never ran--combine or pro day.  Here is what AI says, and it is always 100% accurate: Drake London's 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine was not recorded because he was dealing with a fractured ankle at the time. While he didn't participate in the 40 at the Combine or his pro day, his coach said his 40 time was estimated to be between 4.4 and 4.53 seconds. Some sources also list his 40 time at 4.58 and 4.6 seconds Unless you are running 9s all day, top end 40 speed is rarely reached.  I have always looked at the 3-cone drill.  At his pro day, TMac ran a 6.86--pretty good, actually.  For context, it is faster that Rome Odunze (6.88) who ran a 4.45 40.  Odunze is 6'3" and weighs 216, fwiw, and is considered a very good route runner with no wasted motion.  Mike Evans 3-cone was 7.08.  To put it in a broader context, through 2022, with all NFL prospect 3-cone drills combined, a 6.86 puts TMac in the.89th percentile-  Now consider the fact that he is 6'4" and 220.   We might have something here.  '
