Your team MVP?

Recommended Posts

First of all, great season fellas!

I don't know about all of you, but I was pleasantly surprised by a number of players this year who would otherwise get overlooked. If you had to vote for team MVP this season, who would you choose? Not necessarily based solely on stats or performance, but someone who added a key piece to the puzzle.

My vote … Mike Mitchell. He struggles in some areas, but he brought that tenacity, grit, and nasty attitude to the table. Every feared secondary needs a player like Mitchell. Please re-sign this man!

2nd choice:

Brad Nortman

EDIT: Outside of Cam/Kuechly, who was your MVP?

Cam & Luke are obviously the only two true MVP candidates on this team. But I think you're looking for someone who performed better than expected and helped our cause.

I'll go with Melvin White. Who ever thought he'd play that well when we signed him as an UDFA?

How can it not be anyone but Cam. He arguably made the most improvement. He learned to go through his reads more consistently, and play within the scheme of the offense, as taught to him by a "new" OC. He largely played within himself also, and made better decisions with the ball that resulted in less forcing and turnovers. He learned to be patient in the pocket---only relying on his feet as a last resort which kept us on games---even though protection (or a lack thereof) consistently dogged him throughout the regular season and postseason.

The Kuechly-Davis Combo gets an honorable mention.

Ok, Cam, really? The so-called leader who called out his teammates in public? Yes, the panthers will win so many games with this qb at the helm.

    • this is true.  But NFL Ss and defenses are actively taking that away and playing to take them away vs most teams.  The problem thus far in BY's career......is they are cheating and not respecting the deep game which makes the smaller/mid range game harder to pull off.  and Dallas is an anomaly game.  using those random games as well, look at this......doesn't really change the discussion/issues in Carolina.  Bryce Young took the shots this week because they were not just NFL open but college open.    Wide open dudes downfield that really were coverage busts/issues.
    • I will simply counter all that with: you should always strive, at every turn, to avoid indoctrinating young players into a culture of not playing to win the game.  Come man, that is an egghead academic approach that ignores the human element. it looks good on paper. Maybe.  In the voice of the great  Herm Edwards: Hello! You play to win the game.  I completely understand the need but that is not the way….
    • I wouldn't mind a te room of LaPorta,  Musgrave and b strange
