Rams GM not interested in WR in first round

Seemingly one less team (with two first round picks) to worry about taking top WR talent.

 

 

Despite those ill results, general manager Les Snead doesn't believe the Rams need to hunt for a proven No. 1 receiver.

"I go back to this and the answer is really 'no' on that," Snead said last week, per Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com. "I think our receivers right now, I truly believe as they progress and the oldest guy just finished his third year, we cannot have another receiver around here and we're going to be a good football team."

 

Snead's message is clear: He isn't in the mood to burn another high pick when so much young potential -- albeit entirely unproven -- already sits on the roster.

That us true, they have spent several picks in WR lately but this is lying season so take what you hear with a grain of salt.

We did meet with one at the east/west shrine game this week

Honestly we'll probably draft a DT since we have an older Colin Cole and Dwan Edwards as the guys other than Star and KK. Throw in the fact if we lose Hardy, we lose our Nascar package DT.

The guys does resemble Cole as he is 6'1 350 NT. Heard he has been unblockable so far in practice. Probably projects to the mid rounds

Well that's only about another 26 to go

I cant really see that too due to already using a very high 1st rounder on Tavon Austin in the previous draft. They'd probably go after a vet WR that can come in and step right away.

That sounds like a smokescreen. Yeah they burned high picks on WRs but they still don't have a #1 guy.

Unless their plan is getting a vet WR like Decker, I doubt he's telling the truth.
