Do you think Russell Wilson could possibly out shine Cam in the next 10 years

The ongoing comparison of qbs of other teams and the what it's of fictional scenarios is so dumb.

Why do some of you keep falling into this trap?

A team wins and you see guys go yeah but...a team (Panthers) loses and guys go yeah but. Its either lame excuses or blind loyalty.

Give me a Lombardi over stats and swag and commercials any day.

Cam obviously has more natural talent/ability, but RW is no slouch.   He has one of the best throws on the run I've ever seen.  I think Russell was dealt a better hand weapon wise but I have a feeling they'll both be upper echelon in the long term.  Wilson's receivers had a knack for getting open when he was dancing around in the backfield.  I don't ever remember our receivers being that open.

Wilson's been given the best situation out of any of the young QB's. He is good, will be great. But he is not better than Cam and he is not asked to do as much nor does he command the respect of a defense the way Cam does. We should have beat the Seahawks and we are a 1 WR and a OT away from being able to crush anyone in our path.

What Cam showed this year in those big games is what you see in big time QB's.  We will get to the superbowl with Cam. I believe. Best young core in the NFL.

I will never understand why some people find it easier to attempt to humiliate someone rather than just read the thread title and if it doesn't suit you move on.

Thanks to the posters that offered their opinions.

In a couple of months this conversation will change so many times. Last year RG3, this year Wilson, this year who knows luck, can or who ever. This is good for football though it's getting exciting again with this much of competition at the QB position

If you consider Flacco's contract it's not hard to imagine that Wilson could draw the big bucks.

Good point.

However, Flacco actually did something/a lot on the Ravens Superbowl run. In comparison, Russel Wilson was a virtual by stander at his teams own Super Bowl Parade win. He just wasn't asked to do as much, especially when it really counted.

As far as your question: Of course he could. But you can say that about anything/anybody in a good situation as Wilson.

However, the reality is something different. And that just has to play it self out. What if Cam gets some OL and receiver help, and starts putting up crazy numbers, and/or wins (while Wilson keeps putting up relatively pedestrian ones)???

At the point, it will be too much to ignore, even if Wilson keeps winning.

Quite honestly, Russell didn't do much this playoff run (last 6-8 games), and every body knew it.

Nonetheless, Kudos for him for being a decent [overall] QB, and being in a good situation (hiding his flaws, not requiring as much from him).

    • I can't defend Richardsons failure to this point. And he is still as young as the rookies being taken this past season. I think he still could pan out.  XL is another case. I think he looked the part but some of his times and film showed he struggled separating and the fact he never showed up being good before his 5th season. Laad was my obvious choice at that point(tho I was banging the table to trade up and grab Thomas Jr when he fell into the 20s). Ladd didn't lack athleticism and had the route running and mental part to boot. Didn't see a weakness in his game expect he was smaller..
    • Surprised?  I wouldn't be surprised. I think you are missing my point. I'm not saying the Panthers won't extend Bryce.  I'm just saying that decision won't be based off one game.  This game is not going to decide if Bryce is released or given a 5-year deal.  Like, those are crazy extremes. The people who will be surprised are those who think the Panthers losing this week will automatically mean Bryce is gone in the offseason or won't be starting again for us next year, since that seems to be the only reason people are wanting them to lose.  Which is why I think it is silly to be rooting for that.  Because we can all pretend we know what the FO is thinking, but we don't.  So why not just enjoy the moment and the possibility of hosting a playoff game?  Like, what's the point of being a fan of the team if we can't even enjoy moments like this?  Just because of something that MIGHT happen in the offseason?
