If you weren't convinced already that BleacherReport sucks.

I went to an OTA and watched a goal line drill and Beason was so fast and instinctive, I quickly realized that I was wrong.  I talked to Jarrett afterwards, and he was very polite and respectful-childish in a way.  However, Smitty was all over him at practice.  Jarrett was running half speed at times, dropping passes, etc.  I actually wrote about that practice on ths site and it drew a lot of discussion.  It turns out that my first impressions were wrong, but my second impressions (after the practice) were on the money.

yeah i had heard that he was on steve's shitlist more or less from the moment he arrived here

oh and there was this incident:

"In five years, when The Golden Calf of Bristol is leading Denver into the playoffs and Cam Newton is riding someone's bench, remember this article."

Two things, first, one should be fired and or barred from writing anything for any outlet(blog, forum, newspaper etc) for being so horribly, horribly incorrect. Two, this is why you never click "submit" until you are absolutely sure what you are saying won't come back to bite you in the ass. Remember kids, things written on the Internet, are written in stone. There is NO erasing it. This moron can never, ever, ever be taken seriously again. Ever. Any time he writes an article giving his opinion, this article should be brought up.

I mean anyone can write an article there.

You. Me.

That's why it sucks, there are few consistent, quality contributions.

This. I don't know why some of you rag on it. Regular people post the articles there! Of course it's going to suck. Just ignore the site. Hell, even I WROTE AN ARTICLE a few years ago. Talk about bottom of the barrel.

As for Cam, everyone including here was wrong about him except the Panthers organization and me, of course. I knew this guy would be a beast from a youtube clip, then I followed him in FL then Blinn and I was excited when he got his chance to play division 1 at Auburn. The kid was money on every level.

Of course. All 1,000's of huddlers were dead wrong on Cam. Every single one of us. Oh, except you of course. You're the only person out of 7 billion people on this planet who was right about Cam. No one else thought the guy who went #1 in the draft had any talent whatsoever....

And of course, during 2008 when all of us huddlers were loving the JStew/DWill season, you were just here reminding us about an amazing young prospect out of a junior college no one ever heard of and wouldnt be drafted for another 3 years....

Yup thats how everyone remembers it. Man, you were so right about the best college player actually being decent in the NFL. You must be a scout. No one else could have seen it coming.

I knew about him before he was the best college player. Since HS. Just like I know about Jeremy Johnson and three years from now I'm gonna say I knew about him from way back. When we face whatever team he gets drafted to I will warn all of ya that he's a beast and to tread lightly around his beastiness. Don't say I didn't warn ya.

"Warn ya"? Ok ill keep that in mind while im playing D against him this year.....??

And wow. There are over 60,000 collegiate football players in this country. And you pick the guy who could be the starting QB for the #2 ranked team in the entire nation to be your "omg im so smart - im diggin deep - outta no-where" pick? Whew. Ballsy. Do you also think Nick Marshall could be ok? Or Winston perhaps? What about Bridgewater? He have a chance

Jeremy Johnson is at Auburn and he's not even starting yet. And, Nick Marshall will not play QB in the NFL. WR maybe. Jeremy Johnson will beat him for the starting job this coming season and you will starting hearing the Cam comparison. Speaking of Bridgewater, I did follow his recruiting path too. I just remember his perfect but uncannily accurate throwing motion coming out of Northwestern HS(he replaced Jacory Harris there). He was a dual threat then, LSU offered Mettenberger a scholarship over him so he decided to go to Louisville. Going to Louisville instead of Miami showed how confident he was in his ability. I do kind of have a knack of knowing who will do well in the pros.

I have not read all the posts here...read the fist few.  Not trying to be a defender of BR  but.....anyone could make the same case for any publication.  None hits every time.  Many misses with all  BR report seems to be making some positive changes.  No one is right all of the time.

No poo. You do realize Auburn is #2 in the country right? Cuz thts exactly what i said. "I have a knack for knowing who will be good in the pros...." As u name all college players with zero pro experience. Man you sure are good. Going out on a limb by saying how the top 20 qbs in the nation have talent. Guess we got the next Mel Kiper on our hands.

Number 2 QB at Auburn (obviously an unbelievably talented player) ... "IM TELLING U GUYS!! HES GOOD!!"

"EVERY SINGLE HUDDLER WAS WRONG ABOUT CAM EXCEPT FOR ME" lmao. Thanks man. Funniest poo ive heard in a while

    • What I love and hate about this team is it’s more filled with potential breakout players than ever before. JT, XL, Coker, Smith-Wade, Ikem, Trevin… and even Bryce are all guys I could legitimately see taking the next step. But the problem with having so many of those guys is that team success somewhat relies on them taking that step, and some are bound not to. That being said, I’m cautiously optimistic given our softer schedule, the way the offense clicked late last year, and the direction we finally have at GM, coach, and QB. Could see us as a sneaky playoff team.
    • Me, signing up for FanDuel Network, and then canceling FanDuel Network:
    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
