Gettlemen Combine interview

Jackofalltrades

Recommended Posts

Other favorite bits that I saw:

Gettleman said some colleges are throwing the "hoochie screen."

Gettleman: "If you always go for the immediate gratification, you'll get burned. You're looking for sustained success."

Gettleman paused for seven seconds while Jace Amaro's name was being read. This means... MY COLUMN:

Off podium, Gettleman: “our free agency is going to be the same as last year.” Means band-aids & one-year deals.

Gettleman says agents & players 'don't understand' that the money isn't there for teams to spend because of sluggish cap growth. #Panthers

Gettleman: Even if cap goes to $130M, doesn't mean Panthers will spend to the cap.

I agree with it, games are won and lost at the line of scrimmage. Doesn't matter how many receivers you have if you're running for your life and there's no run game.

Drafts deep no reason we can't get two OT and two WR! Just seen a quote gettleman said answer is on your roster, a guy like Brenton Bersin! I mean really? I hope that's a throwaway remark

No it's a position probably in need of two OTs thinking longterm for sure whether gross comes back or not, but are we really not thinking seriously about weapons? Cam gona throw to Byron bell?

You need to stop this chicken little sky is falling act. The WR class is so deep this year we are fine if we don't take one in the first. Calm down we are of course thinking about weapons

I don't care about first round or not, gettleman is open doesn't hide much but when asked about this one position he's just talks like we have five megatrons there, a few journalists are reading into his smitty comments also that he's part of the evaluation process, that's suprised many because he's prob the only lock at WR you would have thought next season, it's a position neglected for far to long, id sacrifice hardy for better weapons on offense and I agree we need big better bodies on the line, I have been watching bell the pat few seasons I know we need talent there.

    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
    • Didn’t get around to watching this one but looks like Pistons played their starters and actually tried…? Unlucky that they sit vs Magic, etc and try vs us. Hopefully we can beat the Heat and then Magic or 6ers with no Embiid. BUT if not, the NBA really should give us the lottery win this year like they did Mavs last year. Another high pick could be our final missing piece and have us as legit top contenders next year and going forward if we’re healthy. Or trade it for a Giannis type
