NFL considering 15yd penalty for use of "N Word" in games

Racial slurs directed at other players in a hateful way "Fug you, you (Insert racial slur here)" should be meant with more than a flag. It should be grounds for an ejection/fine/suspension, only because we as human beings need to be beyond that by now.

Words of endearment used in context, such as "Good play my nigga" should be left alone by the National Football League. This is an overreach.

Apparently you can't speak spanish very well. At the the very least you can't spell it. The pronunciation sounds like "neh-gro" and it is an adjective not a noun.

I'm suprised you're not banned yet.

That's how that slang word was born, but apparently your to ignorant to realise I was saying that. Its ok small minds worry about small things.

Honestly this is why it should not be touched. The word has a double meaning and to try to divided the two would be very hard for a official. Let's face it, its hard enough on them to catch what's going on now, do you really want them to slow the game even more to see if someone says a bad word?

I think if its a big deal the NFL should let teams fine players for bad word use just like the Steelers tried to do. That would be a moreeeffective way than putting it on the refs.

I agree. If an organization has a problem with it's players language they should be able to handle the problem "in house".

As for the people comparing the language rules to their particular workplaces consider this; when you're at work you do not have to engage in intense physical aggression against your coworkers that could result in a career ending injury. I think making poor verbal decisions is understandable in this context.

I hate the N word when it's used in any negative way by ANYONE but we are well beyond our culture's event horizon for the word. You can't pretend it is not "there". Attempts to do so are exercises in pandering naiveity.

LOL easily the most ignorant thing I'll read on the internet today.

Absolutely. the N word is a bad word. Nobody should say - but unfortunately many people do. How is it any different when a black person says than when a white person says it? Is it any different if you're out in a public, social setting and a group of blacks are tossing the word around every 3 sentences? It's vulgar. What if a young child hears it? I'm uncomfortable around the word.

you can however imagine "a biker gang" to be an acceptable analogue to "a black person" which tbh needs some sort of explanation

like how do we get from "yeah you wouldn't say that to a black person" to "OH YEAH WELL YOU WOULDN'T CALL A BUNCH OF BIKERS CRACKERS WOULD YA" if it isn't a product of your own fear

No its just a relation to a statement that was ignorant. You do understand that I'm smarter than you and trying to troll me will not work.

it wouldn't be hard at all actually. if a white player says it, the official could stop the game, point at him, and say "15 yards for being a piece of poo. the player has been ejected" and it would work out just fine

And in your small mind that is fair. I really do get that.

    • I thought he started to develop good chemistry with Coker over the last half of the season.
    • To put it in perspective, this is a deep ball thrower. Notice how the efficiency basically has minimal drop off regardless of range. This is Bryce Young The other QB is Joe Burrow.
    • It really isn't though If you were to go out to a bar every week of the season, even to just watch one batch of games, i.e. just the 1 pm or just the 4 pm, and spent only $30 a week, you're looking at $540 bucks, $510 if you're just going for the 17 weeks your team is playing, assuming no national games. Also, from past experience, it's hard to spend only 30 bucks if you're at a bar for 3+ hours to watch the game.  Even just a small appetizer, a meal, and say 2 beers was going to run you $40ish, and that was back in 2019 when I used to go to BWW to watch all our games pre the Covid year when I just started finding streams and stuck with that until YouTube got the package from DirecTV. At $450 for a full season, to be able to watch every game, to be able to make your own quad box, to be able to switch between the sound for any game (at a bar in Michigan, I would never get to hear the commentary on our games)... It's really not a bad deal, and that's if you're only watching your team's games.  If you're a fantasy football junkie like myself, then it's a flat out steal, as depending on your TV set up, you can get every game from your fantasy matchup playing.  I do a projector with a quad box on it, a local game on the TV, and then if needed, I can put another game on my laptop and another on my phone.
