Forgotten Man: Brandon Williams

Now.....if only we had a OC who doesn't use crayons to write his plays.......

Simplistic offenses.....aren't bad spots for TEs.

Our OC actually had Williams worked into the week 1 gameplan..... maybe, just maybe, the raw rookie wasn't equipped to handle all the responsibility of being in the lineup last year.

More to the spot than being physically gifted. Blocking, blitzing pickup, etc would be huge

Yea you clearly didn't read the above post where I said he needs time to develop so go back and hook yourself up with that.

Regardless of BW Shula is garbage but getting him in for a live pass or two could have helped our prolific passing game.

Because it would be unheard of for an undrafted player from a community college who has very little experience to simply not be good. He's got big arms and all! Let's blame the OC.

He's a project....where was it stated otherwise?

Shula being awful has nothing to do with BW and everything to do with him always being the head of horrible offenses.

He could bring BW in and even line him up at WR and have him get in on some obvious passing situations.(few per game for experience)

You can't tell me if BW came in a lined up out wide it wouldn't cause some shuffling in the D. Many of those pass catching TE types don't block or pickup blitzes well and will, on occasion, line up at WR to try to get on a safety or LB.

Olsen doesn't block well and is mainly a receiving option just like BW would be IF he pans out.

We have Harsock and his type of TE for blocking and would probably need less blocking TE help if we address the OT position anyway.

This is not an AE or Gettis situation.... no one is claiming to have the next Vernon Davis on the roster.

I'm curious how Shula gets blamed when he & Cam are limited with the weapons they have. His play calling for the most part really helped us in playing ball control & keeping the Defense fresh & dominate. I expect BW with more time in the playbook & working on routes with Olsen through the offseason to be solid next year.
