So I was looking at the Twitter at work and saw Gantt tweeted something along the lines of "Say you want to buy a favorite players jersey wouldn't you like to know he would be with the team for awhile?"

My first thought was Hardy but Gantt seemed too happy about it or maybe the word is cynical so my mind quicky jumped to Smith....

Sure enough no Steve Smith Jerseys for sale on the team website. Try searching Steve Smtih and no results....

 

It means nothing and the Panthers are not going to play their hand like that I hope.... but damn.

This. Smitty's jersey is going to say Smith Sr. next season anyway. They probably took down the old jerseys to change it.

To me its not about the fan base Panicking but the team going about their business that way. If that is actually what they're doing. Its just kinda of a weird way to handle things.

But you don't add it to your name, your name doesn't change. The kid will be a Jr, but you don't legally change anything for yourself.
