CHILL THE FUG OUT

Guest Dark Knight

Sure there is nothing to worry about. McNutt is our best WR and Byron Bell is our best O-line.

But chill the heck out guys, g-men will have both WR and O-line at playoff quality by time season starts OBVIOUSLY.

I trust G-men, but there is A LOT of work to be done.

So Mitchell, Ginn, and Munnerlyn were the difference in us winning 12 games as opposed to 4?  Give me a freaking break.

Well if you put Smith in the mix, yeah maybe. I mean Ginn won us a game with one clutch catch and run. Munnerlyn managed a couple pick sixes, and sacks. Mitchell played his ass off, even knocking a QB out of the game (season). And of course Smith played clutch most of the season, making big plays when needed.

as usual panther fannz in here are holding on way too tight. I for one am pretty impressed that we are making waves like this and not going status quo. Everybody bi+ches every year that we never do anything in the off season and when we do start making moves the same people start getting queasy, nostalgic, and just plain scared. I can't wait to see what this team looks like in a couple months and I love the fact that Gett has laid the gauntlet that nobody is safe. It's almost as if he wants to build sustained success or something.

I've have no idea what that means because I'm a Panther fan.

Mitchell- 5yr 25mil

Munnerlyn- 3yr 15mil

Ginn- 3yr 10 mil

Smith- 35yo WR with declining skills due nearly 30mil over next 3 seasons if retained. Also reportedly had rocky relationship with QB and made poor comments about his coaches.

Gross- retired

Not much the team can do about this. It was pretty obvious this was his last year.

Nicks- ???

He hasn't signed anywhere. Carolina has offered him a hefty deal, & pretty much the max they can. He's the best WR available & the team is going after him.

Collins- TB 5yr 30mil

Best OT available & we tried to get him.

Hardy- tagged

Franchised & trying to sign him long term. He's an elite player & not replaceable.

WTF do you retards want? DG is doing his job.

I guess 'us retards' would like to see them build upon last year.  To date, we have not signed anybody and lost our top 4 WRs, LT, both safeties, top CB and the only decent return guy we have had since Michael Bates.  Not to mention, our answers for both guard positions are youngsters coming back from injury.  Sorry, that doesn't make me feel any better.

Contrary to your post, Collins wasn't the best LT.  The best LTs signed before Collins. Panthers need that position filled with a decent vet and Collins was the last decent option after day 1.  DG missed on all of them.   It is a big drop to Oher and the other remaining options.

Most of us aren't comfortable looking to the draft and scraps of free agency to get 7 starters.  The sky isn't falling but it looks more like rebuilding than a team in transition.

Hurney was doing his job too ... just not that well.

1.  You should not judge a players talent by their ability to injure other players unless you are a Saints fan.

2.  Mitchel gave Bradford a love tap near the sideline and Bradford somehow tangled himself up and messed his leg up.  My scrawny ass could have done that.

Don't be douchebag, I'm not praising or judging his play. I was stating a fact. Mitchell knocked their QB out of a close game. It gave us the edge, and the win.

I get that every guy on the roster made a play here and there.  These guys are no exception.  Keep in mind though that them not being on the roster doesn't mean someone else doesn't make a play to help win those games.  Gross aside, all losses so far have been average players.  Smitty included.  Smith is my favorite Panther of all time, and he was a superstar in this league for years.  But in 2013...he was simply average, as much as it pains me to say it.  There are plenty of FA's and draft picks that can replace these guys.

Everybody is freaking out because we didn't spend 50mil on those 3 players?

Smith- 35yo WR with declining skills due nearly 30mil over next 3 seasons if retained. Also reportedly had rocky relationship with QB and made poor comments about his coaches.

Everybody is ready to light the torches and man the pitch forks over Smith? Do you want to win games or do you want to sit in BOA in a 89 jersey reliving the past?

Gross- retired

WTF do you retards want? DG is doing his job. Gross is the only crucial piece we've lost. And he retired.

Sure, it would've been nice to keep Mitchell, Ginn, or Munnerlyn but they were all seriously overpaid.

DG will replace them all with viable players looking to work for a contract. Just like he did last year.

We haven't lost any core pieces.

Would you rather be;

The team running around at the start of FA overpaying for players from winning teams, trying to duplicate their success.

The winning team who lets average players walk & replaces them with average players who are 10x cheaper & looking to play for a pay day.

This is the most rational, well-thought-out post here in probably two weeks.

Gman and Rivera had a press conference earlier this year stating we're in cap trouble this year and next year.  This is the way to get out of it.  Expect average players to walk and be replaced with other average players until Hurney's mess is cleaned up.

No one wanted them when we picked them up. Now that they have played on a top 5 defense they are the next big prize. Gross is the only loss and Hardy is 26 and worth every nickel. Gman will find the replacements and come opening day RR will make it work He does help choose the players that he has to coach!!!
