He was never that great inside. As I recall we tried in there a time or two on certain packages.

I think one of the things he wanted in Chicago was to be used as a pure edge rushing defensive end. From what I know, he got it, and I'm not sure the Bears were always happy about that.

A 3-4 DE is essentially a defensive tackle, so he probably wants to play OLB, but can he?

Definitely sounds like it should be fun to watch.

George Seifert's 49er defenses used to use the term 'elephant' for a designated pass rusher that could line up in different spots.  that was a 4-3 system though, he used that same system here when he coached the Panthers.

 

Could be a similar spot in a 3-4.  Don't remember Dom Capers using that terminology when he was here though.
