Players not coming to play for Charlotte?

Don't forget the daily original idea of "why don't we just cut deangelo and Stewart and give their money to new free agents?"

Yeah, Someone here I dont remember who was ticked off that we had not cut stewart yet, and I had to go and explain it to him and actually had no clue why we hadn't before I said anything.  It's just what we're dealing with people have no idea and I bet some poster just now read my post and was like WTF there's a reason we haven't cut Williams or Stewart? lol

It sure seems like.  Nicks knows we don't have poo at WR while Gettleman thinks we have enough to sacrifice our best WR (that we still have to pay)

Wrong...We did not,i repeat, did not make Nicks an offer. Could it be that we determined he wasn't the answer at WR that we were looking for?  Logical thinkers would say yes.

Why do people keep saying this? Because Zod said Gettleman wasn't interested? Why did Nicks say he was offered a contract? Why did Fowler confirm he was offered one?

the huddle og's words are gospel.  the guy involved is just a liar

once again:http://espn.go.com/blog/carolina-panthers  "So wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, after signing a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts, says Carolina Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman made him an offer but "it didn't turn out the right way.''

there's a whole fuggin thread about it with this as the title, but since he's not a happy camper i guess it's invalid *shrugs*

You are as good as your last season.

Most people aren't coming because we are not overpaying them like other teams are

Nicks was reportedly offered more to play here, though.  Even if untrue, his interview on the subject suggests it wasn't about the money.

Prior to the Smith Cut,  the gernal consicens on here was that Gett was a genius, afterwards he's an idiot, Gett didnt suddenly have a 80 iq swing so which is true?

I'm not going to bother enough to dig up my own posts on the matter but I did post on here after it was looking like Smith was on his way out that I didn't want Nicks unless the deal was right because Lafell has been more productive over the last two years then him. If I'm the GM I'm not going to sign him to a contract worth a damn untill he shows me he still has game.

The oh and the real reason why Nicks went to Indy is for 2 reasons, 1 it's the AFCS aka the weakest division in football, and 2, Indy offered him more with a $5.5M deal Source ->

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10609690/hakeem-nicks-indianapolis-colts-reach-one-year-contract

And Carolina offered $4.5M source -> http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/03/14/mixed-signals-on-nicks-and-panthers/)

So yeah I just blew a ESPN writers story and your argument out of the water with 5 minutes of google bo fuging yeah for me bro.

Like I said earlier the people fliping out is more about those that haven't watched an offseason before, if a Player doesnt sign one place over another it has to deal with #1 money and #2 division you play in and the team. If I think I can Land in the AFCS playing for the only team worth a damn in the division instead of the NFCS where you have 3 teams slugging it out for the top spot every year where are you going to go? the place that's going to be easier for you to make money and winning = money.  and this isnt some new idea I just brought up I was telling everyone this when Manning went to Denver.

my argument was not who's paying what.  NIcks said he has help in Indy and none here.  I also wanted to make sure others knew we did make him an offer.  Thanks for your help bro

No help? Our #1 Recieving threat was Olsen last year and last time I checked he's still on the team, the reason why Nicks isn't here is simply all about the Benjamins(Indy offered him a contract that was almost 30% larger, then the one Carolina offered), not some BS theory a beat writer that's on a deadline and didnt bother a simple fact check threw out.  I know it's hard to admit you were wrong but how at this point can you even pretend I'm not right?

    • I would say the fact that Dave Canales insisted on a 6 year contract should tell anyone all they need to know about his potential job security under the Tepper's. No matter how much we have heard recently about how David Tepper has learned from this and that. This is still the same man who spent $43.5 million to buy and then immediately demolish a house because of who owned it previously.
    • Same lineup to hopefully finish this one out tonight.  Here's today's projected lineup from the Hurricane's official website:   Tonight's Projected Lineup... Forwards Svechnikov - Aho - Jarvis Hall - Stankoven - Blake Ehlers - Staal - Martinook Carrier - Jankowski - Robinson Defense Slavin - Chatfield Miller - Walker Gostisbehere - Nikishin Starting Goaltender Andersen --- Injuries N/A Scratches Nicolas Deslauriers Pyotr Kochetkov Jesperi Kotkaniemi Mike Reilly --- PP1: Aho, Ehlers (Staal), Jarvis, and Svechnikov with Gostisbehere PP2: Blake, Hall, Jankowski, and Stankoven with Miller I'm getting to the point to where I have to get away from social media.  The narrative is still in some circles that Carolina has played no one.  I just don't see how you can continue to discount what our opponents in the playoffs have done, either to make it to the playoffs or the clubs they beat to faceoff against us.  I know this is how Carolina always get's treated, but if we win tonight our record is 12-1 in the playoffs. 12-1!  Meanwhile, along the way the "talking heads" had us losing in every round.  Maybe, just maybe, Carolina's just that damn good. /rant Here's to kickin azz and taking names tonight. LET'S GO CANES!!
