Look, I'm not sitting here claiming I know what gettleman is doing. I have no idea what his plan is and who he's eyeballing. I do understand the concept of waiting for value to turn up, when it simply isn't there. Not to say he's sitting on his ass doing nothing as he could very well be in contract talk with our next few FAs, but we have no choice but to adopt the value philosophy.

We have x amount of holes to fill. Why panic and fill half of them up the first week of FA and run out our cap, when we could wait, sign players that can contribute on the cheap later down the line? The perfect guy for us could be cut two days from now.

My main point is that its silly to completly rip gettleman a new one after a few days of FA, considering the cap situation were in. No one in there fuggin mind would have predicted what we accomplished, sitting here exactly one year ago. Taking a 7-9 team who was a poo ton over the cap, into the playoffs at 12-4 was a miracle. Give the guy a damn chance! If he is so obsessed about the future,I promise you he thought about what he was going to do with this season.

And yes, he was planning on being without gross, who admitted his retirement WENT ACCORDING TO PLAN

This idea that Gettleman can't do anything differently without literally being Hurney is just typical huddle logic.

the only thing I'm really seeing people say is after 1 whole entire year is that there's good enough reason to just shut the fug up through the first week of FA before you cream your pants over a forum..

in about a month we can join hands and know we are ready to jump off a cliff together..

So glad we will get to take advantage of one of the best WR crops in draft history. Not only that, but we get to work them out with Cam just to make sure they can consistently catch his passes. That minimizes chances that we will get receivers not suited for Cam.

Cam is gonna get to have his say as well, which is huge because he will be in command and lead this young group without having to deal with and appease so many veteran egos who want to have it their way or he has to hear about it.

Really pumped and I know Cam is too. This will be, without a doubt, his receivers and Cam will be their QB from day 1. How far will that go when the day comes for him to choose to stay with his receivers or move to a different team with a corp of unknowns.

Fug yeah!!!!!

Let the dynasty begin!!!

Our conservative offense helped out our D by keeping them off the field.

This. People seem to forget that the sustained drives as methodical as they were ate a lot of clock and kept the defence fresh most of the time! I think that's why we won so many games there was that balance that both sides of the ball had together.

For part of the season they sustained drives, specifically during the mid-season winning streak. To start and end the season, including the playoffs, the OC ditched the philosophy of quick passes to move the chains, and instead relied on slow developing routes that didn't fit the offense. The results were abysmal performances by the offense. The fact that Shula ditched what was working to try to get cute tells me he has no real idea what works and what doesn't.
