2014 NBA PLAYOFF MATCHUPS (Round 2)

Recommended Posts

I thought the NBA airs all playoff games?  That would be pretty stupid not to air playoff games, even if you thought a team would be swept.  That would suck if for some reason the Bobcats wasn't aired on regular cable during the playoffs, because they don't air regular season games here in South Carolina.  At least not on Time Warner.  They better air them, because making the playoffs was my only guarantee of seeing Bobcat basketball this season.

They are all televised on either one of the ESPN networks, TNT, or NBATV. I'd say if we get Toronto you can bet on that series being completely on NBATV. Otherwise, ESPN gets the East semis and final, TNT gets the West semis and final.

Putting it on NBATV would still be pretty bad.  Those without digital cable or satellite wouldn't be able to catch 'em.  I have digital cable, but it still stinks.  All that said, I'm excited to see Bobcat basketball!

Yeah it sucks, but there are very few (none) people outside of the Carolinas (or even in them) that give a poo about the Bobcats. Raptors are similar, and no one in the U.S. cares about them. They have to free up space for that Miami vs. Atlanta series. It may also be on SportsSouth, I'm not sure what the local broadcast rules are.

Hard to care when they aren't even shown in more than half of either state. fug TWC

Quite a bit of movement tonight... One big move in particular (if you catch my drift).

I would LOVE our chances against Toronto (3-0 in the season series).  I think if we go 2-2 we stay in the 6 seed, unless the Wiz get their shiz together and ball out.  The one thing I don't want is a match up with the Bulls as the 3 seed.

I posted this in another thread but I'm going to bring it here as well.

I'm starting to believe that the Charlotte/Chicago game will determine the third, fourth, sixth, and seventh seeds.

Here is what needs to happen

Remaining Schedules

Charlotte

@ Philly: Win

@Atlanta: Win

Vs. Chicago: Must Win

Washington

Vs. Milwaukee: Win

Vs. Miami: Loss

@ Boston: Win

Toronto

@ Detroit: Win

Vs. Milwaukee: Win

@ New York: Win

Chicago

@ New York: Win

Vs. Orlando: Win

@ Charlotte: Loss

That gets us

3. Toronto

4. Chicago

6. Charlotte

7. Chicago

New York is playing each game as a Playoff game right now, so until they are "out", don't be so quick to give them losses. The Hawks just beat us in BK too, so you guys need to play your butts off down there.

The bobcats have already clinched. I don't think we can fall to eight, it's either seventh or sixth.

    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
    • At least we don't need to hear overreacting about towels ...
    • Actually there is, try being a Charlotte Hornets fan. I mean the team fuging moved at its peak and hasn't recovered since and that was 25 years ago
