Ahmad Dixon

Ok folks, here's a prospect I think can be an absolute great fit that could be somewhat of a gamble, but could pay off dividends.

Ahmad Dixon comes in at 6'0 212 with a great combo of size and athleticism.

He started two seasons at the team's nickel "Bear" position, which is a hybrid LB/S role, but moved to safety for his senior year in 2013.

Baylor is known for its explosive offensive attack, but the Bears have some playmakers on defense as well, most notably Dixon, who patrols the entire field.

Speedy downhill type with strong run support but also decent t in coverage.  Can cover the entire field and was a defensive playmaker for Baylor.  Definitely lays out the big hits..he's a physical tackler to say the least.  Was ejected from a game last year.  Did get arrested for assault once but no files were ever charged.  Basically, this kid looks awesome.

Anyone a Baylor fan and know more about this guy?

SS: Harper / Lester

FS: Gofrey / Jones

Cant see a safety in the first three rounds now with WR being such a huge need. Do like him. Hope he falls into the 4th.

Most mocks I've seen have him going in the 4th or 5th round so it's definitely a possibility he'd be there for our pick in the 4th, if we're lucky maybe even our 5th.

I'm thinking if we find a capable SS that could compete with Lester we could go ahead and drop Godfrey post draft and gain some cap space. I dunno haha so many things can happen but I just have a suspicion we're looking for a stud safety after WR, OT, and CB. Factor in BPA and it could happen.

    • I guess it's so we don't have to force a UDFA QB to be in serious consideration for QB3.  QB4 will be just a camp arm and maybe a stash on the PS if he looks half way decent. They will not bring in competition for Bryce if you haven't figured that out by now.  He's either going to sink or swim.  The next QB with a legit arm on this team will be when we move on from Bryce.  I think this is the ramifications from the Darnold/Mayfield debacle.
    • That's what hit me hard, you have a legit 18 per year sack artist and he brought that for years along with heavy pressures etc. I mean take Hendrickson off the team, they are below Panthers in sacks, pressures, hurries, etc....he's that much of a impact. You don't want to pay him when the market is exploding and you got great years on the cheap. Get rid of him and now you want to pay a guy who just had his worst season and played heavy AND he's 30..........two years ago, he was the top DT not named 99, lots changed and now you want to give away the 10 which is perfect spot to get your elite QB some OL help. Mike brown needs to sell the team, them and jets, circus central....glad panthers are not there, besides the joke of QB room.....
    • I wouldn't mind it, but Lomu is my guy.  I agree, if we get another WR and Bryce still looks....well, like Bryce, we know it's time to move on.
