So now I think I like an All in One. Went to Staples and saw the one linked below. Asked my nephew who has worked for Staples over a year (in another state)...he likes HP and said it should do what I want. Most demand....streaming movies and youtube.

Looked online,,,,this Lenovo has an AMD2 processor over the AMD1 in the HP...plus more Ram, etc. My thinking is the Lenovo.....what do you think?

Bumping to see if anymore opinions.

Dunno the specifics of the store warranty, but check your credit card benefits. Most of them will double the warranty (up to an additional year) for purchases. My AMEX and VISA both do this at no cost.

The "No Matter What" covers dropping it in the toilet, running over it, etc. My wife is a Spiller and a Dropper.

I wouldn't buy a computer from Staples, but that's just me.

If the all in one is your preference, go with the Lenovo from NewEgg. Though I would suggest checking out their laptops as well first.

  • 4 weeks later...

I bought this one:

Asus ET2411IUKI-06 All-in-One 23.6" Desktop i3 3.3GHz 6GB 1TB Windows 8

It is factory refurbished.  Reviews from PC sites recommended factory refurbished.  Just got it today.  Love it.  Windows 8.1 not as bad as I feared.  I am working around it.  This thing is fast.  Screen is a monster...23 " HD.  I was using a 15" laptop.  I am going to have to get a taller chair.

Now...have to see how this lasts.  First impression ....I am very impressed.  Paid $436.  No tax, free 2 day shipping.

Thanks for all the replies to this thread.  Everyone (well most everyone) helped me.

Toshiba laptops are pretty good for the money. I hve one that has lasted for 4 years. The wife and kids use it now for facbook and kids games., but it is still going strong.

My Toshiba is going on 7 years old now. My inverter tube (LCD backlight) died over the weekend. It still runs fast so I'm not sure if I want to repair or replace.

Azuz must have greatly improved. They used to be the worst laptops on the market.

you have remember that when discussing laptops, the biggest differences between brands is the design of the outer case, tech support and preloaded bloatware.

The memory, processor, HDD, motherboard, display screen, etc are all manufactured by the same handful of corner-cutting people who sell to all the brands
