I was curious about the outlook of our team because I have been very optimistic about our team and wanted to take a glance at our new Hornets and first off a few things have stuck out. Great job to Cho and MJ. We are building our team the right way finally!!

Ok so I optioned out Mcbob because I think he will and I gave Kemba 10m after next year. I hope he gets $8m but for arguments sake I raised it up.

Basically what we have right now is the chance for a Max player or several good role players. I am excited to see us have more than $25m available after the draft to pick up some key guys.

Who else looks at this and is very excited?? I never have thought we would be able to get a MAX guy in CLT but looking at the numbers above, we have a very attractive team to try to court a big name guy. And if we stay the course and go after an above average shooting guard I would be happy with that too!

I love this team and am glad they are finally winning. It's fun basketball!

PS Sorry I had the above in a spreadsheet and it got all screwed up

Honestly, all we really need are two players. A legit starting SG and a legit starting SF. Hendo and MKG, are role type bench players. Would be great on the second team. If we can upgrade those two positions, give Kemba an awesome backup PG and possibly add a good center to back up Al, we could easily be a top 3 team in the east really fast. Have to make the right moves. I think with our current team and players like Al, and Kemba, also with the Hornets coming back and MJ we will be very attractive to good FAs now. I am excited to see what kind of team we can have for our first year as the Hornets again.

I think Love is a LA lock.

I agree though, this team's future is extremely bright.  This seasons been pretty fun

Can't wait to see what happens the rest of the season and playoffs.  Then next year is a huge year.  Hornets name change, potentially bringing in another great player, seeing the development of players like Zeller and Kemba.

Enjoy the ride while it last

Why would a guy frustrated by not winning go to the Lakers?  I know they will get Kobe back eventually but is he going to be the old Kobe?  Probably not.  The Lakers are terrible and even with the 36 year old, Achilles blown, version of Kobe they have a ways to go.

Unless you meant the Clippers but he probably doesn't want to play behind Blake Griffin.

If he comes to Charlotte we will probably be right up there with Miami and Indiana in the East.  And even that is assuming everyone stays in Miami.

In the realm of reality where Lebron or Carmelo would not come to Charlotte, 4 guys i think would be ideal free agent pickups to start at SF for us:

- Rudy Gay (Player Option)

- Luol Deng

- Gordon Hayward

- Chandler Parsons

- Lance Stephenson (I know he is a PG for indiana, but he has size and ability to play the 3)

Then sign one or 2 more complimentary pieces on the cheap (defenders & shooters)

- McBob

- James Johnson

- Jordan Crawford

Stephenson plays SG, not PG, and I do think we possibly make a run at him but it'd be as a 2-guard.

Just no to Gay, there's a reason why he's on his third team in the last two years. Hell, Toronto went from lottery to the third seed after trading him, and Sac is basically the same since acquiring him.

    • ^I want that, but Rodriguez over KC. Don't hate KC as much at that spot, but rather take a WR with the pick we gain in that trade than in the 1st.
    • I think there is good points in this thread to what the team needs to do. 1) Ball isn't really the issue but, he needs reigned in.  Coach and he need to realize when things aren't falling from the three and learn to play other facets of the game.  He's an amazing talent and when he's on, he's on.  But he can also shoot you out of a game.  We're lucky Miami went that way but that is too many missed threes.  He still needs to bulk up if he can, but he needs to drive more.  He's pretty good at finishing usually and hopefully the fouls come (probably not though).   2) The whole team needs to be more physical.  As others have stated, we need more bulk in our bigs.  Diabate is a hurricane of energy but cannot go against the larger centers.  I love him on the team but he should be more of a match up type guy or energy off the bench.  I think he'd be insane off the bench.  However I think the biggest issue with Diabate and Kaulk is the lack of offensive game.  The lack of a jump shot or anything.  Teams figured out to just leave them on the screen and crash lanes.  There has to be some sort of threat.  We need a 4 and a 5 that can do those things and stretch out the court. 3) Bridges.  He's just undersized.  However, I feel he really threw his all into it the last few weeks when others were gassed.  He was ok not being a focal point.  I'd like to have him off the bench as well but I assume he'd be traded to make things work.  4) Miller.  Dude can light it up when on, but disappears for quarters at a time.  Also he needs to work on ball handling and passing.  He's a turnover machine at bad times.  Also hopefully over the injury so he can bulk up too.   5) Kon. Just a rookie.  Long season and back injury.  I have no doubt he'll be back stronger and focused.  Needs to work on defense and physicality like the whole team but yes, a rookie he'll get there. 6) Coby.  Has to be resigned, no question.  The bench lineup is rough without him running the point.  Team has big potential and the front office seems sharp.  They seen the hive and how crazy it got and how much the city wants this.
