Bringing up the most heated debate in Basketball..

I've never had a say in this and I've never really cared because it's stupid but, here goes...

This person on twitter was talking about how Michael Jordan is the greatest. This group of Heat fans jumped this dude. They obviously just search twitter looking to pick a fight with a Jordan fans. I just couldn't believe the argument that was being made. How the hell does anyone believe Lebron is the greatest of all time? Forget the Jordan vs Lebron debate, how can these players for get about such players as. Shaq, Kobe, Bird, Kareem, Magic Johnson. Lebron isn't even the best player in the NBA right now. Let alone the greatest ever. How is this even a debate?

Another side of the argument is how everyone wants to dismiss LeBron so quickly when his career is in rareified territory.

Any argument with Jordan vs Kobe vs Lebron vs player X....is just too soon to argue...Lebron is on pace to be where any player in history is.

So one does not like how he left Cleveland...looks like he made the wise decision bc they still cannot draft or get players to make Cleveland anything other than a lotto team without Lebron. He took that ragtag group to the finals with Mike Brown's only play call of isolating LeBron at top of the key every play.

In other words no he is not better than Jordan in accomplishments...still trails Kobe but unless there is a time machine you have to wait till the movie is over.

In my opinion, Lebron has a ways to go to catch Jordan but at the pace he's at, he's definitely in the conversation. Their style of play is a lot different as well.

As far as saying that Lebron is not the best player in the NBA right now, that's a bit unfair. I'm a huge KD fan but, again, their style of play is a lot different. Durant is a scorer (and the best scorer in the NBA, IMO). Lebron is a tremendous all-around player. Either way, I think when it's all said and done, both Lebron and Durant are going to be in the GOAT conversation barring any serious injuries.

With all that being said, fug Kobe.

I think people forget just how good Jordan was. He was simply the best ever. Neither Lebron or Kobe are really that close.

I do think Lebron is the best player right now in the NBA. And when his career is over he may be in the conversation.

And I will say that people who only count the number of rings to try to parse who is the greatest is being narrow minded.

Championships are part of the equation but aren't the only variable. You could make a strong argument that Karl Malone or Charles Barkley are the two best PFs ever to play and neither has a ring.

Jordan is still the greatest.

Lebron will be in conversation and will compete for that. It is too hard to argue that since everyone has different opinions on what makes you the greatest.

Is it championships? So Robert Horry was amazing huh?

Points? All-around stats? Dominance? Physical size with measurable athleticism?

The combination from each position makes that hard to prove. Each position has different expectations and changes stats, I look at how much better they make teammates and at defense ability. Those are rarely brought up, but have huge impacts on the game.

All honesty its just an argument for people to talk about....

My question is Lebron isn't best player in NBA right now? Who is? Durant? I don't think that at all, Durant is best scorer but Lebron is above average in every area of game. Durant still is developing as a passer and needs more strength and defense. My favorite thing about both players is that they both are at the top and keep improving. Every year they are adding elements to their game and I really respect and appreciate that about both players.

MJ is still the greatest of all time and Kobe is the next best thing.

LeBron can do everything you want a player to do the best but he's still got a ways to go...mj never lost in finals

MJ would have lost with the Cavs team Lebron took..... Lebron gets punished for making it too early in his career and losing to a Spurs Dynasty?

Kobe is top 5... retract that statement

Nope. There is no way he is above MJ, Russell, Wilt, Kareem, or Magic/Bird/Oscar.

I don't think he is even top 10 but you could make a pretty strong argument that he should be. But even if he is it would be bottom third of top 10

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
