Why hasn't DC's suspected change on the RBs been highlighted here?
Tr3ach replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
It has nothing to do with that though. Chubba was a really good player for us. If they had kept it 70/30 rico, it was still something they would have to figure out in a few weeks to decide what the future was going to be for Rico. I don't think they planned on Rico outplaying Chubba so much when he got back. Especially considering the run defenses Rico had went against. -
We had an opportunity to beat Buffalo if we had let Rico exhaust their defense at 8YPC instead of staying fresh at Chuba's 2.5YPC, giving them plenty of energy to plaster Dalton. Poor game planning and recognition by DC. Not saying we would have won, but we certainly could have negated some of the rest that bye week had provided. Our defense certainly looked gassed chasing Cook all over the field 10 yards at a time.

I thought they would try and hide Bryce this week and roll him back out agaisnt the Saints but with Dalton looking as bad as feared it might be the plan. Lose lose really.

Tepper made a call id say. Same way he wasn't benching Bryce last year after week 2 then boom like he got a phone call -

What the the odds they basically just take the script from the last 2 weeks and reverse it? That Rico just gets trotted out first and it's still just a committee. Because when Rico went wild the carries were 23 vs 4 and 30 vs 4. I do not believe Dave Canales is going to take essentially his offensive captain/leader in Hubbard and essentially bench him pending Rico isn't just gassed and asks to come out. -
Behind the line of scrimmage?

All Matt Rhule had to do was have his wife cook up some meatballs and BAM generational wealth unlocked. -
Bryce is practicing with the team today.

I appreciate trying to lighten the mood with humor. That's about all we've got left these days with this franchise. If Bryce plays in Green Bay it will be his 38th career game. Just for the sake of clarity and the fact that we are all getting worn down on the deliberating about what Bryce is or isn't or what he will or won't do. It's worth noting that Bryce is as of right now with what we should all be able to agree is a mixed bag at best body of work as a starter he is currently 5th in all time games played for a Panthers QB. It's time for the rubber to meet the road....... https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/car/career-passing.htm

Really makes you wonder if it was planned lol. A fool could see Andy was done last year.

I mean, was I actually giving him credit? -

You want to give him credit for reacting to what was obvious to everyone two weeks ago? -

As far as being a salesman I agree he goes out of his way to talk the talk and it's why I generally tried to tune out the heavily processed Blueprint series this year. Talk is cheap. As of right now his resume is more often than not him getting outcoached when he runs into a winning team. -
Not even 2.7 seconds worth of excuses? Lol

You play to win the game. Worrying about feelings is how we ended up with Andy Dalton way past his expiration date. -

They have their differences for sure, but both are selling snake oil; It's just that one is likable in his delivery, and one is kind of repulsive and gives off the "full of sh¡t" vibe. The problem now is that I don't know if Dave knows what the hell he's doing either, and admittedly maybe because of that, to me I'm beginning to ask myself if he's full of sh¡t too. -

I think Chubba has been here for years, he has always been first in last out, a great locker room guy, and allegedly epitomizes everything you want in a Panther. I dont think its crazy to try to give him 2 extra starts to save his spot. Especially when the new guy wasn't on the team last year and is on a 1 year deal. -
I can already hear Canales's post practice presser starting off with "What a great practice and opportunity for us to get better, we will be starting Chuba over Rico because I can't gameplan." lol

He's actually the opposite. Matt Rhule tried to lord over everything and everyone and micromanage every little detail with the franchise. But Canales is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. He can't even dictate what he wants to his defensive coordinator. And he can't bring himself to sit a highly paid running back in favor of another who is clearly performing at a much higher level. The question is just how much involvement the Tepper's have in this process. We already know they essentially forced Evero to stay thus forcing him on their new head coach. Is Canales allowed to make these decisions without checking with the higher ups first? It's a legitimate question that needs to be asked. Because even if we fire this guy we could very well find ourselves right back where we started with essentially another puppet.
