  1. Past hour
  2. Absolutely would have to be anther young scorer with either ELC time or a long term contract... Could see maybe Kyrou or Robertson.... But I really just dont see him being traded you dont trade your leading post season scorer on a long term deal when he isn't even in his prime yet.. not to mention unless you get more than one of those guys at best it would be lateral with unknown team chemistry.
  3. was driving down a two lane rural highway this morning as was reminded of this thread. Minding my own going 60 in the 55. This massive Chevy rolls up behind me so close all I see is grill. Along comes a passing zone and M firm in the right lane. Does doofus drop over and pass me? Nope he backs off to a solid 2 second separation. 500 feet after the passing zone you can imagine where he was. Back up my ass.
  4. If Svech is being traded, the package coming back the other way would be worth it. I don't think our FO would do it otherwise.
  5. Today
  6. Possible, he is physical and a forchecker but not a needle mover, but i wouldnt mind it, although I think we have enough 4th line grinders right now between Carrier Robinson and Janakowski down there, i actually really love our 4th line. We need scoring in the top 6, and a RHD at this point its definitely coming via trade. Rasmus Andersson I hear may be on the market, it feels like every couple of seasons someone links us to Erik Karlsson. As far as centers go, Marco Rossi (even though we have a ton of smurf already) Jordan Kyrou is an intriguing option if he is available. At this point i think Rod should just move Jarvis to his natural center position to give us a 1B center... yes hes also a smurf but he plays way bigger than he is stylistically.
  7. Possible, he is physical and a forchecker but not a needle mover, but i wouldnt mind it
  8. The problem with these summary stats and rankings is that they flatten out progression and assume an even performance throughout the year. His first 3 or 4 games of the season don't really tell you anything about his current level of capacity but more about where he started and what his floor was last year. Given his last several games were against playoff teams, that gives you an idea of his current ability coming into the season. But it will serve more as a floor than a ceiling given the upgrade in talent on offense. And a better defense should give us more stops which results in shorter fields and more opportunities. And going into his third year there is no reason to suspect he will regress. His success wasn't based on being superhuman but being smart and taking what was the defense was giving him. Distributing to the other guys not trying to do it on his own. He was great at the end when pressured and consistently moved the ball. That makes him a great game manager which is what we need. Something that is easier to do and relies on everyone else rather than having to be a top physical specimen or do it on his own. No one can predict the future but to say we haven't improved much is crazy given just having the Browns anchoring the defensive line will shut down the run and make sure QBs won't be stepping up in the pocket. Assuming Evero got the message to can the prevent defense and bend until you break philosophy.
  9. If the Canes don't bring back Tyson Jost or Jack Roslovic, is Tanner Jeannot an option? https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2025/06/senators-expected-to-show-interest-in-tanner-jeannot.html
  10. A relatively quiet ELC signing from May 27: https://puckpedia.com/player/nikita-quapp
  11. Malcom Spence is the best player remaining, hope he’s there.
  12. The era that you played in, and, more importantly, who you played with actually matters. Honestly, that's why these issues will be debated forever, as it's just difficult to say that this person or that person is better when you're discussing the passage of time. As for me, after Rice, Moss and maybe Megatron and T.O., there's probably a dozen or so guys that can be argued about to the cows come home. Personally, I'm not putting Fitz, Harrison, Johnson, Evans, or especially D-Hop, Jefferson, Chase or Hill definitely in front of Smitty (and Colston ain't even in the discussion). Context and all that stuff actually matters. Things like the triple crown matter.
  13. Some of those guys? Yeah honestly you can. I would 100% take Steve Smith over Larry Fitzgerald, Harrison, even Mike Evans. He is 100% a better player than those guys in his prime. If you look at the numbers Smith is historically under targeted in comparison to his contemporaries. He was only targeted 150 times or more only once in his career. Fitzgerald for example was targeted well above that 9 different seasons. Had Smith played with Peyton, Brady, Greatest Show on Turf, or even with Warner in Arizona he would broken records. His 2008 season was ridiculous accumulating 1400 yards in 13 games on less than 80 receptions. All time he also lost a season due to injury in 04, barely played WR as a rookie. Got robbed of 1k season with Clausen. Thats easily another 1800yds minimum that should have been tacked on to his #s. The only guys I’d say for certain are better than Smith are Rice, Moss, TO, Megatron, Julio Jones, Antonio Brown.
  14. I parked in this lot a few times. It would take over and hour to get out of that lot after games. Never again
  15. Completely unsubstantiated, nothing burger, HOF boards or Google.... Just gas bags on X.... If anything its someone inquired about him and as due diligence the canes listened lol. Sounds like total bs.
  16. No one knows how Bryce is going to do. The time for squeezing metrics in order to meet preconceived notions or to support positive or negative narratives is dead. The field will be where Bryce's story unfolds. We've just got to wait and see what happens.
  17. Pretty good haul for only falling 5 spots.
  18. Doesn't discount what I said...at all. Your LT PJs have to be a little worn at this point.
  19. Welp traded for picks 34, 62 and a 5th in 2027. Sheesh. See you tomorrow.
  20. Only way it would work is a hard cap of like 150m, lower max contracts, limit rookie contracts, etc which players will never go for.
  21. They are really trying to make this so much worse than the NFL Draft.
  22. This is so hard to watch. Omfg so boring and unnecessarily long.
  23. Sure Bryce will have good and bad games but why think he will come out looking like week 1 and 2 last year versus him picking up where he left off? You could see the progression when he was put back in. He was throwing on time anticipating where the receiver will be instead of holding the ball. Instead of backing up he climbed the pocket and began running and throwing for big gains. Those are now in his repertoire when he needs them. The game has slowed down. He is confident and having fun like he did in college. And he has the same coach with a better cast to expand on what he did last year. Frankly I expect him to be better than last year.
  24. Sure who needs the leading Canes goal scorer in the 2025 playoffs with 8 goals. smh
  25. Rumors going around right now that the Canes are shopping Svechnikov. They also are trying to move the first round pick either back in the draft or in a bigger move. Additionally the Canes appear to be the front runners for Ehlers
