  2. it's retired so it's not even an option. I think other franchises have un-retired numbers, a practice I don't necessarily agree with.
  3. I like the idea of numbers - for example 58 - being "reserved" but not retired. I would think it should only go to players on their second Panthers contract, and if former holders are part of the decision process, it should be a non-public conversation to allow former holders of the number to honestly say "Nah" without offending.
  4. I think the business plan / concept is probably solid, but the market (Panthers) is probably wrong.
  5. You're assuming alot in this post.
  6. Being a hot chick has always been a potentially super lucrative gig.
  7. It goes deeper than that for me. When I started watching the Panthers as a kid I fell in love with Mark Fields’ story during that SB run. He wore #58. Then TD wore it and kept the tradition of the being the soul of the Panthers. The next time someone wears #58 I hope brings that same spirit

  9. T-Mac is a nickname, Tet is a shortening of Tetairoa. Like you said below... your name is Jonathan, I could see "Jonny" being considered a nickname, but Jon isn't a nickname, it's a shortening of Johnathan, see the difference? And if your mom named you Jonathan for it's biblical significance/meaning, because she was very religious, I think it would be different. T-Mac is Polynesian, so much in their culture has deeper meaning for them, particularly names. So for his mom to feel this way, I highly doubt it's just because she likes the name Tetairoa and not Tet, it's much more likely than not to be because the name itself has a deeper meaning in their culture. Particularly as T-Mac himself has often talked about how much his Polynesian heritage means to himself and his family. And no, I'm not saying all this because of how much he's my guy, if he was just "normal american" and his name was Jonathan and he didn't like fans calling him Jon, I'd probably just say tough poo. It's that he's Polynesian and I know things like names have a much deeper meaning in their culture than they do in ours for the most part. For whatever it's worth, a quick google search.......

  11. All that mess for a solid 6. Come on Bill do better
  12. never stick your d*ck in crazy, c'mon Bill.
  13. I can't see that, only one that could knock him off the final roster would be blackshear.
  14. I always felt like it should be oldest kid +5.
  15. I mean, if Clowney was playing lights out, an edge making $10m is a bargain. He would not be upset if there were other teams with open wallets waiting to give him a 2-3 year deal. He was a stop gap, and now our developmental talent needs some sunlight. If Clowney were to stay and have a good year, he is a 33-year old free agent. If our two draft picks get a combined 12-15 sacks, then you know that they got more production at the edge position for less money and we are building. Clowney has flashed. He is a great specimen and tremendous football player. His mindset is not a dawg, however.
  16. I was unaware of the idea he doesn't have a good attitude. I liked the idea of keeping the veteran aspect of the depth but if it wasn't a positive influence then that is different. I am interested to see what they might do now.
  17. There is a real science to it that involves math and if you don't know the language, you are history (see what I did there?) . You need soldiers before you need generals--Morgan did a great job in this draft, imo. He wanted to trade back--more picks. Yes, most of the picks will not pan out, but most of the NFL starters were not first round picks. Free agency is like dealing with a loan shark to make the house payment--you have to draft strategically.
  18. I will call him Jonathan since this is about me doing what I want.
  19. Exactly. He has made a literal multi contract career off of one hit, hope, and his God given measurables.
  20. Cry me a river. This lazy bum has been useless since his second year at SC.
  21. I will also reply to the last part. My name is actually Jonathan and I go by Jon. My mother hates it but to me only my mother and wife call me Jonathan and to hear another person call me that is odd. It's just natural to call someone with a long name a shorter version of that name. Unless tet actually translate to something disrespectful, Then there's no harm in it.
