Actually think this gives us a slight advantage this year (if I'm remembering things correctly). Don't the two teams that play in this game get to open their training camp slightly earlier than the rest of the league? If I'm remembering that correctly, it would be a great thing with this being such a tipping point season for the franchise, either Bryce/Canales prove to be the guys of the future or they get replaced after the season.

How badly do you guys think the heels get spanked on Saturday?

Dane Brugler from The Athletic 2-round cock draft
tukafan21 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I still think we'd be far better of to spend our cap space on getting a pass rusher who will be an impact player Week 1 and then use our 1st Rounder on a position that is more likely to be able to start Week 1 and improve the defense, such as an off ball LB or Safety. I'd also put an LT above an edge rusher if there is a Week 1 starter there and then figure out what to do with them and Ickey next offseason. This also could be the season to trade back to pick up a future 1st, especially if there is a WR on the board that a team has fallen in love with, which we're at the perfect spot for one of those teams picking at the end of the 1st Round to try and move up to get. -
That man has been an absolute beast for 16 years, has 8 pro-bowls, NO all-time sack record, $146M career earnings and zero SB wins. He's gonna chase a ring!!

And re McD, they had missed the playoffs for a lot of consecutive years. I don’t remember offhand but something like 11 or 13. They were back in, in year 2. Brady had him here so there is familiarity both ways which is helpful.
-
I hear that. They were committed to extending him though. The timing of this just sucks. It could suck worse but it isn’t good.

Ickey has gotten better the last 2 years but, IMO, he was only a mid-tier guy. I'm not sure I wanted to pay him $27M / year anyway.

Well, C is a choice they may have made (not settled yet). LOT was just dropped on them and they have to address it. It ain’t fun or sexy but it kind of became priority 1. IMO it is 1. I am concerned they will throw too much money at Lloyd who multiple teams will pursue. But the draft looks like it aligns with our defensive needs pretty well. PS, we are said to have some interest Buffalo’s C, McGovern. The Athletic says he is probably going for 3 years 13 per. Number two ranked FA C. Seen as an upgrade from Mayes. If they did that then you have LOT to draft. Maybe.

Nothing like having the over 2.5 in Palace / Spurs game and watching VAR eliminate a goal by saying a player's "face was offside". Soccer continues to prove why it's such a bullshit sport as it's currently played and ruled, and why it will always be outside of the top 10 in sports in America for kids over the age of 8.

I don't know much about Lew, except that he tore his ACL last year, but Proctor would be a solid pick. I like the idea of getting young starters on the o-line, but if we ignore defense again we'd better hit home runs in FA at edge an ILB!

I was your oldest son's age when I joined the huddle. Speaking of things that went fast. Haha. -
I think he's quite talented but he was never worth that recent contract. These salaries are getting out of control. Also seems he worked his way out of favor with the group in Chicago in general. If you're getting $82 million guaranteed and you're not practically bending over backwards to not be a distraction or a headache you are doing it the wrong way. As for Buffalo. He will certainly be a nice addition and a weapon for Allen and Joe Brady. But I'll be keeping tabs on how that dynamic lasts the next 2 years or so. Joe Brady being a first time head coach is going to experience some bumps along the way without a doubt. DJ Moore hasn't exactly been a model teammate when things aren't going well and Joe is going to have navigate issues like that and everything that comes with being a first time head coach and being the coach that directly follows the winningest playoff coach in many years for the franchise. For all his faults Sean McDermott is tied for most playoff appearances in Bills history and the team has been around since 1960. Good luck with all that.

Good for him. Hopefully he can win the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP and lose the SB against us.

Bussi was not good last night. Freddie has not been good all season. Bussi's oh-poo moments are few and far between. Andersen is a seasoned, experienced, successful net minder. His flashes of brilliance have been few and far between. Bussi is a rookie and I think a lot of us are just waiting for the honeymoon to end. Of course there are different levels of expectations between the 2.

Good trade for both teams tbh

I wonder if they'd consider bringing back Diggs?

Avs just got better acquiring 29-year old, RH center, Nicolas Roy from Toronto for a 1st and 5th down the road. 53% career faceoff wins. I sure hope Tulsky isn't sitting this one out.
-
I saw that too!

Ironically, per pro football reference, the starting guards in 2022 were Corbett and BC. In 2023, they have Zavala and Nash Jensen (do not remember him) listed as starters.

Be like getting Roman Harper. (A hated Saint) But, it might be worth it for the 2 Saints games alone if they let him walk.
