This is one of those drafts where the first two off the board are pretty much known, but there's a metric eff-ton of speculation from there. It could be a whirlwind of trades or every team pretty gets the draft to fall in some accordance with their boards. At this point, I know who I'd like for us to move with, or at least the position, but I have no earthly idea how it will work out. I do know for sure that I'm ready for this to be over and done with. The wait is far too long for the draft.

Mike Kaye: “I would keep a pretty close eye on {KC Concepcion}.”

I don't think KC is going 1st round. If we were to get him, it would be in the 2nd round IMO. -
A QB friendly offense would be nice so that we don't have to spend 4 years evaluating the next guy. As a bonus there's nothing that would help shortstuff more than a TE who can catch his quick dinks through contact. If you don't think Bryce is the future it really shouldn't matter which way we go because we're not making a run at the Super Bowl next year.

Dan Morgan on Up & Adams About Bryce's Future
SmokinwithWilly replied to XClown1986's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't even have this view specifically regarding Bryce. It's my overall view in general. Teams rush these rookie QB into service before they're ready, then keep the seasoned vet backup/mentor who isn't much more than a QB coach himself at that point of his career. With a few rare exceptions, I think the best course for most would be to be drafted, sit a year behind a vet QB to learn, THEN get handed the reigns to the offense. Unfortunately, the ridiculousness of these QB contracts and the success now pressure these coaches/GMs are under don't lend itself favorably to that scenario. -

I will give him credit he is tough, but at some point he is going to get hurt and miss significant time. It seems to happen to just about all qbs at some point - Today

Always be developing a #2 with potential to be a #1 in an emergency. I get the reliable vet QB for a few games angle, but if your QB goes down early on, do you want to just toss a season away like Cinci, pull a Patriots/Cassel or lightning in a bottle with Foles and Philly. Can't do that with guys like Dalton and Pickett. Bryce sustains major injury, the season is over. I'm a competitive person and I don't see how you can just be comfortable with that potential outcome year in and year out. -

Also just because, KC's prospect overview below. Sure sounds like the WR Dave wants IMO. He's not a deep ball guy, but he's your YAC guy who hopefully frees things up for TMac. Smokescreen season, but wouldn't surprise me if with Walker signed now, and them probably (and stupidly) hoping for Ickey's miraculous comeback, we're actually thinking about WR at 19. Not the position I'd want, and waiting until Day 3 to draft all of our big boys could bite us in the ass, but think we might be serious about WR at 19 and ILB in the 2nd. Overview Concepcion offers immediate burst and separation into space. He’s elusive in beating press and getting into breaks with minimum damage from handsy coverage. While he has a one-speed approach, he can snap off routes with alarming suddenness, making him extremely difficult to match at leveraged break points. He’s instinctive against zone. He’s also a nightmare for man coverage on choice routes and near the goal line. He’s quicker than fast, with more value on utility throws utilizing run after catch. Concepcion’s ability to quickly uncover should be very appealing to teams with spotty protection and a young quarterback.

You do realize that any rigging is coming from on high right? This just makes it easier.
