Somebody says something positive about Bryce Young: "They're a shill on the company payroll!" Somebody says something negative about Bryce Young: "Finally, a balanced and realistic take."

Official Week 3: Panthers vs. Falcons Gameday Thread
Loyalty4Life replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't know. I keep hearing people saying he needs to start playing a number 1 overall pick. Some hold him to the fan's standard of what a number 1 pick should be playing like and that after 3 years (even though it's only 2 years and 3 games), he should be producing as such. You call it coddling. I call it teaching and bringing a guy along who had a horrible start to his career and a clusteruck of a 1st year. If Canales is coddling him, then he should keep doing it because it's working and Bryce has been and is improving. You don't throw a guy into the deep end of the pool and watch him almost drown, only to throw him back in to see if he's learning to swim yet. Again, not saying he's earning a 2nd contract but don't act like a lot of people point out how Cam started his career as the 1st pick and how Bryce hasn't done that. That's ridiculous and you know it. -
Mostly because once a huddler establishes a position and someone disagrees, it become a contest to win the argument and a reputation to save. Justifying their position becomes more important than the Panthers or the players since their ego and position on this message board is being challenged. That is why few people actually have an open mind or are willing to change their opinion.

Love it. Prodiddy says we should check out what a former professional QB, Jake Delhomme, says about Bryce. He points out areas where the offense and Bryce need to be better. Completely agree. Then Cranky posts quotes from Jake that balances out the criticism with the positive things Bryce is doing. The very next post OldhamA asks why are we even listening to former professional QB's talk about Bryce since he works for the team. See, Jake even says he sucks. Here's the whole quote. Nevermind, don't listen to Jake. I know it's not that big a deal. I just find it funny what and how people use quotes or clips to support their arguments and how easy things can be taken out of context until you read or watch the entire thing. No disrespect meant to either guy.

I think overall we are 24th in total offense and 20th in total defense. I think it was 27th and 32nd last year. -

You mean the current board started in 2008. Yeah I was here for the previous board as well. But if you weren't here then you wouldn't know that. -
What did he say that was wrong? Bryce keeps rebounding and bouncing back? He is developing chemistry with wide receivers? He handles adversity? He was a good leader even when he was benched? All those things are widely known and acknowledged by players and the media. Did Al say he was great or a top quarterback? Did he say our offense was good? Let's see how this plays out. I am all for bringing in competition at QB and said so this year before the draft. But I am gonna root for Bryce as long as he us here. Done for now going to go shoot some black powder rifles at the range today.

Every situation is different. Context matters. Carolina SHOULD have one of the better pass attacks in the NFL. That is what should be expected of them. We SHOULD have a bad defense. Only one of those actually played out. So for us to win games, the entire design and choice Carolina made.... was to have the pass attack make up for what we lacked elsewhere at this point in time. When you go all in on offense at the expense of the defense...you judge it accordingly. This is a stat we should be expected not to stink at.

For Baltimore, Trenton Simpson took a backseat to the rookie LB for the second week in a row. I hope Dan's calling up there right now to probe about his availability.

It is not. We are sloppy and don’t execute well. Our supposed strength of the run game isn’t there. Our #1 pick QB isn’t playing up to it currently. Our #2 receiver got phantom injury benches because he sucks so bad. However there is some potential there and I’m open to letting things gel and seeing where we go this year. -

You. You said that. You literally make something up in another thread, then quote your made up post as fact from others. Objectively, it’s hilarious. -
Yeah, The Ravens' offense was stalling out while the Lions' offense was humming. The Henry fumble sealed their fate but I didn't like their chances regardless. But either way, Derrick Henry 4th quarter fumbles have cost them one game and cost them and an opportunity in another. That Bills game was over until his fumble gave them new life and his fumble last night made their chances go from "not good but maybe" to "we need a miracle".

I don't think we have been good yet. We were generally effective yesterday when we got scoring opportunities but struggled to move the ball under a heavy blitz and new receivers who he is still trying to develop better chemistry with and a makeshift line. And last week the comeback was impressive until it fizzled out. But week one we were bad and we have way too many penalties and picks and the occasional WTF play. We were better yesterday and the offense had no turnovers although special teams did. We are a work in progress as any panther fan would expect. I think we have the most rookies on our roster compared to any other team. No one thinks we are all that amazing or thar Bryce is the answer for sure. But we aren't the worse either and this constant negative narrative really is ridiculous and drowns out everyone else. I doubt I will be here much especially if we lose. The conversation is so negative and constant I don't even check in until Wednesday. But I will be here like always since 2004. Just not engaging in conversations with folks who just want to bitch and complain over and over with anything they can find as if that makes things better or they are saying something we all don't feel at times. Most of us realize this is year 2 of a rebuild and there are ups and downs. You have to be comfortable on the roller coaster. But anytime you point out the good you get inundated with negative crap as if we didn't see it too...... -
Sanders to miss weeks to high ankle sprain

Nick is the bed sore on the backside of our defense! If we are going youth movement like Canales says, he should be relegated to back up special teams coverage. -

I don't give a poo if James T. Kirk is the starter in Atlanta. -
I said before the season we were likely a 6-8 win team and that assumed we'd win at least one of the first two games. I think 7 wins is our ceiling with 6 being more likely. Granted, that could change if we get to the end of the season and one or more of our opponents rest their starters for the playoffs.
-
Our secondary is coming together real well for sure. And Brown is great for sure. Hoping with more time our LBs develop a bit more. We have a lot of inexperience/youth on the D that could really pay off down the line
-
Tim Donnelly said it best yesterday, we didn’t really pour it on offensively because we didn’t have to. They were doing it to themselves, and we just needed to control the football and not turn the ball over. Plus, Atlanta’s defense has came a LONG way with Ulbrich. Probably Top 3 toughest defense we will see this year.
-
Forget the money we paid Moehrig that I warned was a mistake, this might be our best pair of safeties.
-
Whether if EE is here going forward or not, but another good/decent defensive draft and we have the makings of finally a top level defense. Being anchored by Horn and Brown. Both absolute studs. But again its going to suck ass if we have to blow a top 10 pick on a qb instead of a lb, safety or whatever
