people dont understand what this does to an offense. it eliminates most of the inbreaking routes on a wr route tree. if you look at most of his throws, they are comebacks, throws to the boundaries, checkdowns. Low risk throws that he can zip in the 10-15 yard range. That limits your offense. as much as people hate XL, i think he could be useful on certian routes. but thats not the type of routes Bryce is comfortable with, the slants and posts. even Jimmy Horn could be used on some of them because of how twitchy he is but those passes would come in the middle of the field where you cant float the ball but have to drive it.

If you get in a 3rd and long situation and everybody knows it's about to be automatic 4th down there is no damn way you are a good deep ball throwing. Thats the difference in bryce and other qbs, you have to scheme up his limited attempts to create those plays where as we have seen many times when its 3rd and long teams know we gotta throw we know it's about to be a punt because thats asking to much of Bryce to convert that situation.

No ones comes into a game with the Panthers thinking they have to stop the deep ball and bryce young. in fact it is quite the opposite, they want to shut down the run and and either be in single high safety or sit in zone.

And what's your point? Great defenses can still be apart of bad teams. Happens all the time. You still need a offense that can score some points. If you think a team can get 10+ wins and make playoffs this day in age in the nfl just off having a good defense i got some land to sell you.

In fairness to Bryce, I think it is just as important for the GM and coach to play to his strengths and hide his weaknesses. He needs to be surrounded by studs--Rico, Chuba, Moton, Ickey, Lewis, Hunt, TMac-- We have a run-first OL--they are average pass blockers, elite run blockers. In that regard, Bryce seems more elusive and is extending plays by stepping into the cracks and buying time rolling out--before, he would panic, retreat, and surrender.

I noticed that too. If referring to Bryce's career, maybe. If he is referring to his time in Carolina, I am not that certain, but I do feel that Bryce has more lives than both of our house cats combined.

We're going to learn a lot about Bryce over the next couple, and hopefully more, games. He's as much in control of his destiny as the team itself is. Everything from here on out is the fourth quarter of the game for him. Everything is a game winning drive potential. If he makes it, there's going to be a lot in store for him. If he doesn't, then we and he are all waiting for the offseason to hear the other shoe drop.

It's going to be a good one. Hoping we take the win. It'll be close, I'm thinking, though.
