100%. I can’t stand that. Besides arbitrarily burying under appreciated outside the box ideas it encourages groupthink. That is why I could never warm to the place. I only hear about the way it is otherwise because I just can’t hang with the format. It seems really convoluted.

They'll be wearing the leather helmet throwbacks while ironically it's us who should be running a leather helmet era offense. We suck at QB and we have a damn good running game. We should be running the ball 60% of the time and leaning on play action to try to open up the passing game.

The problem with making that move up for Bryce is that if he's not a HOFer it basically wasn't worth it. You're going to be in a roster talent deficiency for several years due to the amount of roster building capital we had to give up. And the bust rate for QBs is just too high to go THAT all in on a prospect. If we had earned the #1 overall pick and didn't have to trade all that capital to get it we wouldn't be in near as bad of a spot overall. But when you go all in and it blows up in your face it hurts bad and it hurts for years.

I am not sure the Panthers can do any better than Canales as long as Tepper is the owner. I am convinced he is still meddling and influencing football decisions. Frank confirmed this was happening during his brief stint and I see no reason to believe it has stopped. Tepper can fire and hire as many coaches as he wants but the results will be the same. He is the problem, as no competent coach or GM wants to work with him so all we get is leftovers.

He certainly didn't do Chuba any favors and made the situation more awkward and dramatic than it had to be. Coming off back to back games averaging close to 200 yards rushing you just dont put a hault to that, you continue to ride the hot hand and the chemistry Rico and the Oline had going in the run game. Chuba was coming off injury perfect excuse to ease him back into the game plan with spot duty because unless he was going to come in gashing people the way Rico had been doing (which he wasn't doing before his injury) you're setting him up to face what he's facing now. because Rico yards per carry hasn't dropped the only thing has dropped is his production due to coaches decision. Of course fans are going have the pitchfork outs we finally have an offense worth watching for two weeks after who knows how many seasons and then Canales comes back with the same ole, same ole of 3 and outs with a top 5 running back on the bench. If Chuba started showing some juice in relief/spot duty of Rico then you could transition to a dual headed attack but just declaring it and sticking to it with no results is ridiculous.

I want to repeat what I said when we drafted BY... We need too much help at other positions to be spending a top draft pick on QB. I think if we can hit on FA and the draft one more year, we can then start thinking about taking a shot on a QB in the 1st rd in the draft. We need Safety help, CB help, LB HELLLLPPPPPP!, it wouldn't hurt to have a pure pass rusher (FA pickup IMO), OT to replace Moton (which I said we needed before we signed his extension) and a WR2, unless Coker can make the jump in the rest of this season. Bringing a Rookie QB in to play behind this line and with this offense is a recipe for disaster.

I want to like dc and I want him to win and be a good hc but things keep springing up that make me doubt. Keeping evero, the whole Rico vs Hubbard, nick f ing Scott, not benching Dalton, not bringing in qb competition, half of the players on d, the piss poor play calling. The last draft has the looks of a homerun but outside of that there are way more things I can ding him on than congratulate him for

I don't agree. I love TMac and think he's gonna be a big time WR for this team. Right now he gets fed a ton of targets that helps his stats. He's getting the Adam Thielen treatment. I just don't think he maximizes YAC opportunities, or runs by DBs, or makes the circus catches in games we know he can make. I think he'll put it together, but he ain't there yet. Shakir in Buffalo showed something Sunday we haven't seen a WR do here in a long time. Who's doing that on this team?

Plus the XL thing, Corbett over Mays, etc. He just doesn't want to play his best guys where they fit best. We are not merit based. At all.

We're still in the wild card race. Shockingly, our division is still in reach. We lost to the team that was one game away from the Super Bowl. Starting Andy Dalton as our backup QB. I think it's safe to say that despite how bleak our loss was this week, for me, and probably others, at this point in the season we're exceeding expectations. We definitely run the risk of coming back down to Earth HARD. But all things considered, this is hardly the time to start winding up the coaching carousel.

Agreed. It's tough for me to honestly evaluate Canales as an offensive coach given our QB room. Now with that said, his reluctance to lean into Rico isn't promising.

I'm all in on drafting a good enough roster that can adequately support a QB. This roster ain't it and bringing in someone new too soon means wasting valuable years under their rookie contract. Also, new QB means new HC. I don't trust Tepper not firing Canales if the new guy falters out of the gate.

Being stuck on the island is awful. It will be a devastating storm.
